Location was excellent. Right beside the Chateau Frontenac and walking distance to all the great spots. We shared a 2 bed unit with friends and it was fine for 2 nights but very small and only one bath. I would recommend that for families travelling with small children. Overall we were happy with the hotel and found the staff very friendly. They also allowed us to store our luggage after check out which was very helpful.

What can I say about this charming hotel? Centrally located? Oui...Comfortable? Oui. Charming? Oui. Small? Oui. Wonderful? Oui. Oui!

The location of this hotel is wonderful. You can walk the entire city and still feel like when you are in your room, the world outside is gone! It is clean, quiet, charming, beautiful, comfortable and just an excellent choice for staying in Old Quebec.

The only draw back is that there is no elevator or parking lot, so staying here with a lot of luggage can be a real hassle, but do not let you be deterred. There is a parking lot close by (okay, three blocks or so) and who could not use a little exercise taking your luggage to your room??!! The charm and beauty of this place makes up for the two minor drawbacks. This is a romantic place to stay!

We just returned from a week at Manoir Sur-le-Cap. We stayed in three different rooms because we booked on short notice and it was a very busy week (last week of celebration of 400th anniversary of Quebec). They have free WiFi on the first floor.

The Condo (aka: Suite) was very nice, spacious, comfortable. It has a bedroom and bath downstairs. The bathroom has a very large tub with spa jets. It's comfortable size for two people. There is also a shower. Nicely furnished bedroom. Upstairs has a living room with TV, couch and a dining room and kitchen. Kitchen is fully equipped, microwave, toaster oven, sink, stove, refrigerator, etc.

We also stayed in room 2 and room 3. Room 2 is small but comfortable but the window does not open so you have to run the AC to stay cool. No refrigerator. Bathroom has a shower.

Room 3 is bigger, it has a small kitchenette with microwave and refridgerator and a table and couch. The bedroom is comfortable and nicely furnished.

Everything was clean and the staff were very helpful, with extra towels or directions or restaurant reservations, or local information. All the staff we met were bilingual, English and French.

In July 2008 we stayed at the Manoir for 3 days. This was our second time there (first was 5 years ago). It is a wonderful alternative to the large box chains at a reasonable price. Many varied rooms, with very upscale decor, some are a little small but workable. You cannot beat the location! The service is excellent as well. We inexcusably left some clothing in the room, and they quite graciously promptly packed it up and sent it to us in the US. Highly recommended.

Location - Across a park from Chateau Frontenac and just up the block from the river terrace, the location is Manoir Sur le Cap's best feature.

Room - We stayed in room #56. The rooms border on charming (it is a historical house, after all), but really they are just old and a bit shabby. Do not expect high quality sheets or down pillows or anything like that. The bed was very soft, yet the pillows were rock hard. The sofa in the room is part of a larger sectional... all of the furniture seemed equally hand-me-down. The bathroom is so small, you have to go into the room to dry off or you'll hit your elbows on the walls (and I'm only 5'5"). The room was pretty clean.

Breakfast - Others have written about croissants, but they had no food while we were there. There is coffee, but if you want milk, there's only powder dairy creamer. In any case, there is no breakfast room... even if they do offer you some food, you'd have to take it back to your room to eat.

Service - Everyone we encountered at the desk was very nice, though not always knowledgeable. We asked for a place for breakfast, and the girl couldn't think of any place to recommend. We asked if taxis were flat rate to the airport (they are), but she didn't know.

Overall -The room is not great, but it is adequate if all you need is a place to sleep at night. The location was great, so we were not unhappy.

Nice place, very charming. Hot coffee all the tyme. A reformed house, quite familiar (they gave me a key if I came after 9 PM). Simple, cheap, and with a good jacuzzi.
It has an advantage: close to Old Quebec but also near Cartier.
Good breakfast with croissants, green apples and oranges. People very easy-going- easy to comunicate.
Cheap internet wireless (2 USD - 24h) if you have your own notebook.

I stayed there on Memorial Day weekend and it couldn't have been better. When we checked in they gave me a better room at the same price. The room over looked the park and had great views of the river and surrounding area. The staff was cheerful and helped us find a place to park. The room was clean and it probably had the best bed I've ever slept in. If you don't want to pay the ridiculous rates at the Château Frontenac, stay here.
