“Outstanding little hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2014

Incredible location within walking distance of the sights of Old Quebec, top-notch service, sleek and modern guest rooms ... and we loved the adorable breakfast basket hung on your door in the morning. Fabulous choice for our anniversary trip to Canada ... we can't wait to come back. Merci!

The location of this hotel was great. The rooms were great. The breakfast basket delivered to our door each day with delicious croissants was wonderful! In the lounge you can make cappuccinos . Only thing that I felt should be addressed is: they did not inform us of the fireworks display every Wed. and Sat, and they did not inform us of the FREE walking tour you also get for staying there! The tour was great, and the fireworks- best I ever saw!

We stayed for 4 nights and could not believe the location. It is in the heart of the city inside the walls in upper Quebec City. I will say the street closes at 6 pm every night and Friday night it remains closed through Sunday night so it gets confusing getting back to the hotel if you drive. (They do have a detour marked) You are walking distance from shops, restaurants, the Frontenac & lower Quebec.
Even though the language is French the staff has no issues speaking English and are extremely friendly and want you to enjoy your stay. We stayed in room 111 and I loved the size of the room it was spacious with a great bathroom. I enjoyed the deep soaking tub. The dresser only had 2 drawers and a closet with hangers. I would have liked 1 more drawer but honestly it's a trivial complaint.
Each morning a basket was hanging with 2 fresh squeezed orange juice, cheese sticks, fruit, homemade jam, croissants, yogurt and either muffins or pastries. It was put out each morning at 8 am. No plastic here everything is served in glass which I loved no plastic!
They also have DVD players in the rooms with free movies to rent and popcorn. Also, have a great coffee machine in the reception room if you want an espresso, tea or hot chocolate rather than the coffee in your room. My husband surprised me with having champagne delivered to the room and they included a card and a box of chocolates from the chocolatier down the street which was such a nice touch. We were really happy and when we return will stay here again.

Room Tip: Our room 111 was king size bed on the first floor. we never heard our neighbors and was a side room...

My family of 3 stayed at this hotel for a mini vacation. We reserved a standard room with 2 queen beds through the hotel website. From the moment we walked through the door, the hospitality and service was unlike any other hotel in which we have stayed. We were greeted warmly in French, but once they knew we were English speaking, they were equally as warm and spoke in English to us. We had arrived a bit early and our room was not ready, but they locked up our things for us, directed us to the underground parking nearby, and gave recommendations for restaurants nearby. (Side note... Les trois garçons was fabulous)

When our room was ready, we returned to the hotel and got our luggage. The hotel is in a late 16th century nunnery. The charm of the old building was evident in stone walls, brick, etc. Our room was on the 3rd floor. It was large, comfortable, modern and immaculately clean! We had a rooftop garden viewable from our room. The first night it poured in Quebec. We requested one of the hotel's DVDs (they have 600). We were given popcorn to enjoy with our movie, which my son loved! It was a savior for a horrible weather night. We then settled into our comfy beds and went to sleep. Although the hotel is on a busy street, we heard no street noise or noise from other rooms.

In the morning, breakfast was delivered to our room in a picnic basket. It is left on a hook on your door. The breakfast is included if you book through the hotel's website, otherwise it's a $10 charge per day. The picnic basket was filled with beautiful fresh baked croissants, pastries, cheddar cheese, yogurt, fruit and fresh squeezed juice. It was plentiful and delicious. My son loved waiting for the basket each morning.

There is a lounge downstairs with a high end coffee, latte, cappuccino maker as well. The hotel staff are well versed on activities in the area. They were very patient, and never seemed put off by questions or requests for directions.

My family all agrees that this is the BEST hotel we have stayed in. You get superior service and personal attention you rarely get in a larger hotel. I highly recommend it!

Green Features: This is a green hotel. They do not provide individual toiletries, but rather containers in the shower of body wash and shampoo. Bring your own if this does not appeal to you.

My wife, daughter and me spend three nights in Old Quebec, and from the moment we came into the hotel the feeling of being welcomed just was incredible. This is a small and really friendly hotel in the perfect location to explore Old Quebec. It is close to mnay of the attractions and restaurants.
I think Jonathan was his name was great with dinner recomendations and the lady, which I forgot her name ( pardon me) when we check out was really helpful in showing us the way ti Ille d' orleans. The breakfast basquet included was aspecial touch. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Yes, this was our
third stay here and the hospitality only gets better if that is possible! This year we brought our two grandsons who had just graduated from high school. Whatever your request is they try to accommodate you. I have never been to another hotel, and I have been to plenty in my 71 years, that always bend over backwards to help you. We stayed for 5 nights and I felt we were treated as if we were family!!
Of course, we sorely missed our daily breakfast picnic baskets when we got home and back to reality! Those baskets were placed on our door each morning..filled with croissants, French pastries, yogurt,
freshly squeezed orange juice,
fruit.. How delightful that was! And a tour of Old Quebec was included and what a delightful 2 hr tour that was!!
One of the best parts to this gem is its location! You walk out the door and you can walk to anything!

Great hotel, ambiance, friendliness, location! We enjoyed our 4 night stay, the breakfast basket was a plus and delicious. They also have great coffee in main lounge. If traveling with children ( we were not) they have games for them in lounge. We saw some kids playing monopoly for quite some time. Nice to see children playing board games. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful with restaurant suggestions. They also helped me surprise my husband for his 50th birthday. We would definitely stay here again.
