If you want a modern/updated room, ask for a room in the new wing.

I was staying at Hotel Pur (my favourite but now bought by Wyndham, shame) and then went to Chateau Laurier where my conference was taking place. Yes, I had the European room, it was fine, small, clean, quiet but it's only for one person under 150 lbs.
Great location, good staff, get a room overlooking the park or the courtyard if you want quiet. The older section has windows that actually open.
I would go back.

Room Tip: Quiet rooms include the 242, overlooking loby entrance.

Bonjour, thank you for taking the time to give us some feedback on your stay. We are certain your fellow travellers will appreciate it. Please note that we have many room types; the european rooms are smaller with a more conservative look however the rooms facing the Plaines are spacious and modern. It was my second experience at this hotel. I love the location and booked it since I had a good deal when I bought a Jaunt promotion. We were in the new section in a superior room. The King size bed was confortable and the room practical and very quiet. The breakfast buffet was good and they had many choices. The staff was very effiicient. It was my first experience with an automated wine bar- this was an interesting addition to the hotel and the wine was good. I recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for the new section.

Stayed at the Château-Laurier for business. Room was booked by my office for convenience of location. My room was very small and the bathroom was even worse! Too bad because the location is great and so is the service. I would recommend this hotel for the budget-consicous traveler though.

Room Tip: Splurge and get a large room!

What can I say this hotel is great . great location for exploring Quebec City. really nice pool and outdoor hot tub and great rooms. staff were very friendly and the the hotel restaurant outclassed the local restaurants by taste and price.Would stay here again. The only reason we did not give 5 star was because the WIFI is very very overpriced at $5 per hour or $15 all day. We travelled from Miami all the way up and never had to pay for WIFI so they should at least make if affordable.

When the first saw it we were amazed with the hotel, we didn't know about the swimming pool or about the Jacuzzi, so that was a surprise. At check-in the receptionist didn't mention anything about Wi-Fi, when I got in the room I realized it was charged separately, even though in our reservation it said it was free. I went downstairs and asked about it, she mentioned something about booking.com and gave me a password that gave access to the free Wi-Fi, connections were very good and I was able to do Skype calls without any issues.
The room is nice even though it is a little bit dark, even with all the lights on it's still too dark. The major problem is a noise that comes from the bathroom I think it's about the heating or something, we turned off our heating and the noise continued. it is a constant noise that bothered us. There's no ventilation in the bathroom and that was a major problem too because the bathroom what's constantly humid. The noise got worst every day at 5 a.m., I wake up every morning with it.
I would stay in this hotel again but I would specifically ask not to stay in room 447, due to that constant noise.
Sometimes the pool and the Jacuzzis would get crowded and there's no one to control it. Even though the safety instructions said no more than six people at each time in the Jacuzzis sometimes there were more than eight in each. The hotel is very well located, specially for tourism. They charge $11 separately for the continental breakfast and for that is too much, you can have a huge breakfast in Starbucks just across the street with that ammount. They offer 50% discount for the mayor of the venue in foursquare and for the first checking they gave us some bottles, which was nice. The safe didn't work property but we didn't ask for assistance.

Room Tip: Say that you DON'T WANT A NOISY ROOM and specially not room 447. Believe me, make it very clear.

I wanted to express my appreciation for the very fine service I received while staying at Chateau Laurier in Quebec City this last weekend. The staff could not have been more courteous or helpful. My bedroom and the meeting rooms we used were wonderfully clean and efficient. The food served at our meetings was outstanding. Thank you so much for a very memorable and enjoyable stay in Quebec.

Your hospitality is truly legendary. Felicitations!

Room Tip: My room overlooking the central courtyard was lovely, but any other rooms overlooking Le Grand Allee...
