“An Excellent place to stay in Old Quebec”
Reviewed June 23, 2014 via mobile

We stayed at the Manoir Victoria for two nights last week before our cruise out of Quebec. It was an excellent hotel with a great staff. I want to mention Cynthia, in particular. She was very courteous and very helpful in helping us with any question that we had concerning the hotel and the city.
We were in one of the renovated rooms (room 219) and it was fantastic. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was totally updated.

A sleek hotel very centrally located to all that Vieux Quebec has to offer.

I've read reviews that complain about the staircase up to reception. It seems to me that one could enter around the corner through the restaurant Chez Boulay, which is on the same level as the elevators, to avoid having to climb the steps.

My very spacious room had been renovated to a high standard. It was a little dour for my taste--charcoal, taupe and brown--but it was nicely done. There was an odd pillar between the two beds--no doubt structural, but awkward. My view was of the roof of a conference center which resembled a space-age cathedral spire. You could see the mountains beyond.

When I asked for an iron and ironing board, the receptionist said "There's one in your room." It was in a panel next to the television that was so unobtrusive I hadn't noticed it. It was a pull down board. Ingenious.

The staff were consistently pleasant and helpful.

I did not have breakfast at the hotel as the wonderful Paillard is only a block away.

We stayed here for two nights on a recent trip to Quebec City. The location could not have been more perfect! Some of the previous posts have complained about the stairs upon entering the hotel. There is a flight of stairs, but the staff will assist you if you need it. Our rooms must have been recently refurbished because they were much larger than one might expect of a hotel in Old Quebec City. The bathrooms were great and all of the amenities were there. The staff was very helpful in giving us suggestions of things to do and what we should see while in Quebec City. The restaurant that is attached to hotel is awesome! Chez Boulay. If you stay, you must also eat there!

Given how many good reviews there are, there must be a big difference in the rooms. Ours was a standard size and was very dated with a noisy air conditioning unit. It really was more of a room I would expect in a 3 star hotel, rather than a four star. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel so can't comment on that. The associated restaurant, Chez Boulay, is excellent. The best part of this hotel is the location, very easy to walk everywhere from there. There was a sign in the lobby that they were updating the rooms either later this year or next. It certainly needs it.

This hotel has lots of pluses: valet parking, located in the heart of Old Quebec City, with modern and clean rooms, and great service from the moment you arrive.
For breakfast you can eat in the ground floor restaurant or just step outside and go to one of the many fast food joints. For dinner do experience an evening at their famous bistro: Chez Boulay.
The cost of a room is reasonable considering the location particularly if you want to visit the many sights in the old walled city of Quebec.

If you are going to Quebec City stay at the Hotel Manoir Victoria. Perfect location, service and reception are great especially Bernard and Dan "The Man" who assisted us with our bags and automobile. We stayed in room 602. Corner room with a great view, very quiet and very roomy with two queen beds.
We did not have dinner at their restaurant but we did have breakfast and the selection was excellent and servers were very willing to please.

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. Everyone at the hotel was very welcoming. The hotel is very spacious on the inside even though it does not look like it from the outside. The restaurant was good and the buffet breakfast was a great. Very clean rooms and some amazing views depending what floor you're at. Everything was at walking distance from the hotel. You have some amazing pubs/restaurants in the area if you dont want to eat at the hotel restaurant.
