“Great for the able bodied.”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

Hotel is well sited near shops and eateries. Several block hike to Place d'Armes, but not the area is not as intensively "touristy".
Staff was uniformly wonderful--kind, helpful, cheerful, efficient. A 5-star staff for sure.
Decor was traditional and mostly uninspired, but very nice. COMFY beds.
The only problem we had was lack of handicapped accessibility. My husband walks slowly with a cane. There are many steps up to the main entrance. If it is open, you may be able to enter via the attached restaurant...although when they are busy they are not always thrilled to be used as a hallway. The alternative is through the garage and carwash; while this was not an elegant option, we really appreciated being allowed to use what was clearly a staff area.
Overall, we were happy with our stay, and if I were to go back to Quebec without a handicapped person, I would definitely stay here again.

This is the second time we stayed here. Right in town..perfect. Just leave and start walking. Everything is right there. You don't have to worry about parking and you won't need your car till you leave. Rooms are very clean and beds are very comfortable. Service is top notch and the breakfast was o.k. It is a buffet. Adjoing restaurant is not as good as everyone in the hotel will tell you. BUT... we had a great time

having arrives at the front of the hotel by taxi we were invited in by the hotel doorman and shown to the foyer for checking in, while our cases were taken from taxi to front desk, the room we had was great although the view from the window could have been better, this hotel is situated in the old quarter of Quebec and very handy to get around, saying that the hotel has about 30 steps from front of hotel to reception with no lift we could see, to overcome this if it is needed is to come in through the hotels very swish restaurant to the lifts which are on the reception floor. The staff were brilliant and could not do enough for us. we would certainly go back again.

Room Tip: Higher floors are much quieter.

The Hotel was in a great location; everything in historic Quebec was within a 10 to 15 minute walk. Our family of 5 was able to share a large 2 Queen bed suite with the addition of a rollaway bed. (although there was a $30 per night charge for the rollaway, it was worth it.) Our first floor room looked out onto the Rue Saint Jean, a cobblestone street with cafes and shops, and provided many people-watching opportunities. As well, there were numerous cafes within a short walk outside the hotel. It is true that the entrance to the hotel is on a less traveled side street, and one must walk up several stairs to the lobby, but that did not bother my family.

Our family enjoyed the pool, which was small but nice. We also ate at the hotel's breakfast buffet. It was a bit on the expensive side, and the service was spotty; sometimes good, sometimes not good; but there were other breakfast options within a short walk of the hotel. The front desk people were helpful, as were the staff who took our luggage up the stairs and parked our car. Valet parking was an additional charge, but convenient. All in all, we had a great stay at Hotel Manoir Victoria.

Room Tip: The large first floor double queen bed rooms were nice, but you could hear noise from the street, so...

We loved staying in a "boutique" European-style hotel. The room was small but very well appointed. It is situated in the ideal location for walking around the old city of Quebec. There are restaurants and cafes all around the city and just around the corner from the hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. One of the best restaurants is located in the hotel, don't miss it!

Rooms have recently been refurbished and it was all very updated and very comfortable the reception always very helpful, food for breakfast was included breakfast buffet and they also have a very nice upscale restaurants for both Lunch and Diner.Had the privilege of enjoying the spa great massage and facial. All and all it was a perfect stay.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the room with balcony.

The location is great. It's a very good value, a great value compared to the Hotel Frontenac. Parking is what it is. Park at the hotel, or park somewhere else, same cost. The steps aren't as bad as I feared. Have the bellhop carry your bags up and down. A reviewer complained about the elevators, I did not find them slow in the least. Language was not a problem (which was good since my French is a problem lol). There appears to be construction ready to start across the street. That may be a problem in the near future. The room was clean and comfortable. The rooms on their website looked bigger than mine, but all was fine. The suggestion to use the mini bar was put to great use. The staff was friendly, switched from french to english in a heartbeat and gave us great suggestions on dining and directions to Montreal. When we go back I would ONLY stay at the Hotel Manoir Victoria. We skipped breakfast at the hotel and instead went to Café Boulangerie Paillard located around the corner. Communal seating, and a bit confusing with the lines, but worth it. Next door to the hotel is a Tim Horton's and at the corner is a McDonald's.

We loved the quaint shops in both in the walled city and in the old section at the base of the Funicular ($2.50 each way). We didn't buy anything but souvenirs. I'm not sure if one goes for the shopping. Do NOT miss a trip to the île d'Orléans - a small island about 25 mins away. An easy, toll free trip the île d'Orléans is an island full of restaurants, roadside fruit stands, art galleries and craft shops. At the visitor center rent a cd and a map and enjoy. A friend described it as drive thru farmer's market.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the street and was fine. I fear the coming constuction may make a room elsewhere...
