The location is great. It's a very good value, a great value compared to the Hotel Frontenac. Parking is what it is. Park at the hotel, or park somewhere else, same cost. The steps aren't as bad as I feared. Have the bellhop carry your bags up and down. A reviewer complained about the elevators, I did not find them slow in the least. Language was not a problem (which was good since my French is a problem lol). There appears to be construction ready to start across the street. That may be a problem in the near future. The room was clean and comfortable. The rooms on their website looked bigger than mine, but all was fine. The suggestion to use the mini bar was put to great use. The staff was friendly, switched from french to english in a heartbeat and gave us great suggestions on dining and directions to Montreal. When we go back I would ONLY stay at the Hotel Manoir Victoria. We skipped breakfast at the hotel and instead went to Café Boulangerie Paillard located around the corner. Communal seating, and a bit confusing with the lines, but worth it. Next door to the hotel is a Tim Horton's and at the corner is a McDonald's.

We loved the quaint shops in both in the walled city and in the old section at the base of the Funicular ($2.50 each way). We didn't buy anything but souvenirs. I'm not sure if one goes for the shopping. Do NOT miss a trip to the île d'Orléans - a small island about 25 mins away. An easy, toll free trip the île d'Orléans is an island full of restaurants, roadside fruit stands, art galleries and craft shops. At the visitor center rent a cd and a map and enjoy. A friend described it as drive thru farmer's market.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the street and was fine. I fear the coming constuction may make a room elsewhere...

Best trip ever! Just step out your hotel door and start walking. No need for transportation. Just walk out your hotel entrance.Restaurantsoutdoor, cafes, shops. Hotel was tip-top. Great service and very clean.Explore all the history, St.Lawrence seaway, Plains of Abraham and the Citadel.
Everything within walking distance.People on the streets until after midnight. Very vibrant.
Good history lessons for all.

Room Tip: Higher floors have excellent views. there are 6 floors.

I have stayed here two years in a row and will probably return next year. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly and always helpful. The value really can't be beat for staying right in the center of Old Quebec, a short walk from anywhere you might want to go. I had a great experience at the spa and you should be sure to check out the attached restaurant, Chez Boulay which is where we had one of the best meals.

The steps to the front desk are a killer.....rooms are not 4 star but clean and acceptable...I am told its the second hotel after Hotel Frontenac to have parking will cost you $22.00 a night which i did not mind considering i was staying right downtown. The parking staff were very helpful and friendly. The front desk staff were cold and not so friendly.I would stay there again but would insist room with a view not the one looking at another roof.

Room Tip: Insist on a room with a view but i think they cost more.

My room with one double bed was spacious, clean -- and ready even through I arrived in the late morning ahead of check-in time. I had a nice view out to the St. Lawrence. The hotel is perfectly located around the corner from the shops and restaurants on Rue Saint-Jean. I skipped the pricey hotel breakfast and headed for a croissant around the corner at Paillard. The restaurant attached to the hotel, Chez Boulay, was outstanding for dinner. I took advantage of the small hotel pool and had some relaxing treatments at the in-house spa. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. My only complaint was the slow elevators, particularly during busy times.

We arrived by train in July, 2013 and stayed 2 nights. The hotel is a few minutes away from the train station. On arrival, you are faced with several stairs to climb to get to the lobby but staff is always there to help carry things up and down. The location is perfect - walk through the hotel restaurant and you are on Rue St. Jean, a quaint street that reminded us of the French Quarter in New Orleans. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant as we found the staff not that friendly - Tim Horton's is just a few doors down from the front entrance to the hotel. There are many things within walking distance - a National Park to cool off under large trees, shopping, sight seeing. Our room was quite small and comfortable, overlooking roof tops, but we did not spend much time in it. You can book many sight-seeing tours right in the hotel lobby - we took the city tour and it was wonderful. Lobby staff is very friendly and helpful. We would definitely return.

We enjoyed a perfect stay for 3 nights in this hotel. Located on one side of the Old City, the hotel is near a major boulevard loaded with excellent restaurants and shopping attractions. It is most accessible to all parts of the Old City especially if you enjoy walking and taking in the marvelous sights that characterize this fantastic town. We booked a room for two and were given a spacious, well-furnished room that was extremely comfortable and great for just relaxing after a walk in the city. The room was efficiently maintained each day, with cleaning staff attending to the room promptly each morning so that you didn't have to wait until noon or later for the room to be cleaned. The staff was cordial, attentive, and very courteous, making you feel that they appreciated your patronage. Wireless access was easily available in our room at all times. Though parking is extra, it is reasonably priced for a crowded area where public parking is extremely limited and your car is promptly retrieved whenever you want it. This is a truly luxury hotel whose standard of excellence personnel strive to maintain and a hotel that offers significant value and comfort to the traveler who visits this exciting, attractive town.

Room Tip: Enjoy yourself in a great hotel
