My hubby and I have never been to Quebec City and since we were so close to the boarder, we decided to go for an overnight visit. I was originally trying to get a room at the Holiday Inn express but they were full and referred me to the Best Western. We have never stayed at a BW prior to this stay and now I would not hesitate to book room there. We had a great experience. Despite the lanugage differences French vs English we had a nice stay. Our room was clean with a king bed, nice & modern. Free wi-fi was great, as well as free parking. They do offer a shuttle bus free of charge into the Old Quebec City at 9:30 and 10:30 am. The front desk staff were very helpful in referring us to several different restaurants. Which we did try & I'll give a review on them. Old Quebec City was so beautiful and charming. We were surprised at how many visitors were there, it was a bit crowded. You need more than a day to visit and we intend on going back next year and may even stay at this BW again! As a side note Quebec city and Old Quebec are pricey so bring extra cash or as we did we used our credit card and had no problems.

We arrived in Quebec without pre booking a hotel and decided to book this hotel as it was easy to drive into the old town and near the aquarium. The receptionist was really friendly, lovely, helpful young lady. She gave us a local map and advised us about the old town. We had a lovely room with nice bathroom and decor.

The gym was pleasant and had good equipment. overall a very pleasant clean hotel.

Room Tip: Our room was on the ground floor so no stairs or lift to use.

This hotel lives up to the reviews. The rooms were new and the bath very clean and modern. We were there just prior to June 1 and did not need to use the shuttle service. It was a short drive to the Old City. The only drawback was no breakfast, but we found other options on our way to the Old City. English speaking staff were very helpful, which is important in a French speaking city. We found that going straight down the street that the hotel sits on takes you to the Old City and past beautiful neighborhoods. There are no parking fees ( unlike the hotels in Old Quebec) and easy parking on premise. We walked across the street to a grocery and to a great pizza restaurant. Other than that, you will need to drive for meals. The area just before Old City has lots of great restaurants and bistros that are perfect for dining. One caution- the stores all close by 5PM including malls. Dont plan for any late shopping strolls.

Very nice hotel for a Best Western. Rooms are nicely done but small with a very European feel. The beds are incredibly comfortable...some of the best I've ever slept in. The hallways were very narrow. The bathroom was extremely small but again, very new and nicely appointed with a rain shower head. There was a weird smell in the room that hit you when you walked in but you didn't notice it after a minute. Only a few miles from Old Town Quebec. The easiest route is to head to the part of the city thats down below on the river. That way you don't really have to get on the highway. The roads in the area of the hotel have to be the most confusing I've ever tried to navigate. Lots of ramps, and stop signs, and loops. Didn't eat at the restaurant but the menu seemed over priced. Overall it was a good price for a nice hotel. I could see staying closer to Old Town Quebec but you don't have to pay for parking here.

Room Tip: Ask for one that faces towards the front and the bridges. The ones in the back look into a neighborh...

We needed one night in quebec and stayed there for one night. The place looks new and the rooms are good and the small bathrooms are good too. The twin rooms are without balcony, the balcony in thedoubles are small and without any privac to thenext room neighbour.so you dont feel like leaving the door open because itsmeasy to enter from nexwt doors. Also it es very noisy there. The shuttle bus is just going a few times, but the public bus is ok too. Parking in quebec is expensive, so its better to use the shuttle into town. The lady driver of that bus was very friendy.
The pool was useless for us, we could not swimm in the morning before breakfast because the opening hours are between 11.00 and 19.00 , basically when guests are not in the hotel...
If you book with breakfast you get an a la carte breakfast where you can choose between 5 different breakfasts. Watch out they almost all come with fries!, being GErman, that is nothing we eat for breakfast. Portion is not very large, so if you are a good eater, you have to order more at an extra price. The restaurant is very formal run, the staff is pleasant and reserved. But they do speak english, which is at times difficult in quebec.
So staying there is functional but not a holiday feeling experience!

Room Tip: Doubles have balcony, twins not. Very noisy, but if you like tosleep with open window, go for a room...

This hotel was super clean - and loved loved loved the floor which was NOT carpeted - but a laminate wood floor. It made everything so much cleaner.
When we booked we asked for a room with 2 beds and a balcony - and was assured this was not a problem. When we called to confirm the day before we were informed there were NO rooms with 2 beds and a balcony except a suite - to the tune of $60 additional a night. We had no choice. The suite was beautiful - with a murphy bed in the main living area. However relaxing on our balcony proved impossible the first day we were there due to the fact that there were two painters on it all day long, beginning at about 8 a.m. and lasting until about 4. Quite the suprise to wake up to someone walking back and forth right outside your bedroom window! So much for coffee on the balcony!
We were also informed when we booked that the free shuttle would no longer be running when we were there - and that proved incorrect. At least that was a pleasant surprise!
I'm not a rainfall showerhead kind of person - so I didn't love the shower - but the bathroom was beautiful and spotless. I'm pretty sure the floor was heated too!
The lighting is poor in the room - and there is only one clock - in the main bedroom. The pillows were reminisant of old heavy feather pillows - again I wasn't a fan but this is a personal thing.
The staff at the desk was always pleasant and went out of their way to help us navigate the city.
If not for spending an additional $60 per night for a three night stay that we hadn't planned on - only to have workers on the balcony all day the first day we were there it would have been a 5 star rating for sure.

Bonjour,

Thank you for sharing with us your comments following your stay at our hotel.

I am glad that you have appreciated our new décor as well as your interaction with our team members. I want to apologize for the inconvenience related to the balcony painting. You are absolutely right this work should not have been done whilst the suite was occupied.

I wish that we will have the pleasure to welcome you again should your plan brings you to Quebec city and I invite you to contact me directly so I will look after your reservation.

Best regards from Quebec,

Hard to explain but although the staff were very polite & helpful this place didn't seem welcoming. The room was fine, plenty of space, but the bathroom has very limited space for laying out toiletries. Located out of the city so a car is ideal, although they do have a shuttle that goes into the city twice in the morning & returns about 6pm.
