We stayed in the Frontenac for 3 nights. The property overlooks the St Lawrence river and the views are amazing through the most spectacular windows imaginable. The condo is incredible- very large and comfortable for four people, high-end furnishings, clean, extremely comfortable beds and awesome views. The café on the ground level was great for coffee/light breakfast. The location is outstanding-- everything is within walking distance. I can't imagine a better place to stay in Quebec.

This condo was fantastic!! Great location, Ed was wonderful to work with. The condo was very roomy and beautiful. The view was spectacular, a cruise ship was in one day also. The cafe downstairs is awesome also. No need to stay anywhere else. We definitely be back. Thanks, Donna, Joe, Debbie and Matt

“Perfect Location”
Reviewed July 14, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We enjoyed exploring Quebec City from this well situated condo in lower town. Seven people, spanning three generations were well accommodated in this spacious three bedroom suite. Ed and Carol were super attentive! Everything was spotless and well maintained. Having the ensuite washer and dryer, complete with detergent, was an added bonus. Parking was a great amenity in this location. Look forward to returning in the future.

“The perfect spot in the perfect apartment”
Reviewed July 8, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

This apartment complex is beautifully maintained, with high ceilings, big windows and spacious rooms. We stayed in the three bedroom condo, on the second floor; there appear to be two condos a floor, on three floors. It was big enough to sleep eight comfortably. Two of the bedrooms had double beds, and one had two single beds. (The kids slept in the living room, which has a Murphy bed.)

Until you get here, you have little appreciation for how centrally located this spot is. It is in the lower town, but just steps from the Funiculaire to the upper town. Many of the city's finest restaurants are within a few blocks walk. Bike rentals can be found a block away. There's even a cafe on the first floor, if you don't feel like making coffee yourself, as well as a roof top terrace where we had dinner one night. There is also a parking lot for your car. Out 88-year mother has trouble walking long distances and so the location was just perfect for her.

The kitchen is well supplied, and the TV was huge, perfect for watching the World Cup final. Everything is spit-spot clean and Ed was easy to deal with. The only downside was that the pillows were a bit thin--and the windows did not shield all of the light (Bring a face mask if that would bother you.)

We've stayed in a number of vacation rentals around the world and this was among our best experiences.

“Look no further! You have found the best! Beautiful, on the river, rooftop views!”

Our group of 9 women from Alabama could not have been happier with our choice of condos in Quebec! Absolutely beautiful, great location with views of the river from your room and the rooftop! We walked to everything-only cab ride was to one restaurant-IxPour Bistro- and the airport. Ed Sweeney gets property manager of the century! He took personal care of us-stocking the condo with wine, beer etc before we arrived, arranging a trip to Montmorency Falls, lunch at a winery-Panache , and exchange of currency. Trust me, this is THE place to stay in old Quebec! We had a view of the cruise ships if that helps with location--Royal Dalhousie. Book with confidence!

Management Response

I hope you are back to "Sweet Home Alabama" It was a pleasure getting to know all of you gals. My son still can't believe that you gals have been meeting for lunch and travelling together for the last 35 years. A testament to great friendships. I hope that we will see some of you in our beautiful city again in the near future.

“Great location, accommodations and view”

The flat looks out onto the St Lawrence River/Seaway and is located right in the heart of Old Quebec City. What a great location.

In the mornings, we could walk downstairs to get our cafe and croissants or take a one minute walk to a cobble stoned square and sit outside Notre-Dame de Québec and have a Cafe Latte. Very peaceful. We enjoyed the daily breezes coming off the water through the bright (+3 meter) windows. Remember that you are in downtown Quebec and may need to close the sound proof windows in the evening to shut out the city noises.

The flat itself is well appointed and very comfortable. It is part of a converted old world factory that used to make flour grinding stones for grist mills. It has real character and warmth. On our arrival day, the property managers greeted us to make sure that we were settled in and answered any questions we had. In the evening, we were able to sit on the rooftop patio and enjoy some wine and guitar music. What a great way to meet new friends and watch the ships go up and down the St Lawrence.

Private parking was available right next to the building (and part of the rental). This made it easy to load and unload the car (as well as go to other points of interest around Quebec without the hassle of locating parking).

We had a great stay and would definitely recommend staying at the Royal Dalhousie.

“Fantastic Place to Stay to See the Whole City”
Reviewed June 25, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Pros: Great location in lower QC, fully equipped kitchen, large living area, great shared balcony, fabulous views, free parking, coffee shop downstairs, bike shop one block away (so you can rent a bike and get to the parks and ride the long path around the city that is just across from the condo), Ed the manager (very helpful!), art shops and restaurants all around, one block from Civilization museum.

Cons: Steep walk to upper town, so if you have limitations, it might be harder to get around. However, we got stuck out at dinner in a strong storm and took a cab back to the condo from the upper town for only $4, so that is an option. The sun rises really early, so if light wakes you up, bring a sleep mask. There are lots of windows in the rooms (which is great in the day, but also lets in a lot of light very early in the morning).

We would definitely return to this location!
