Hotel systems down for hours?

I arrived mid day for my stay, and was told that they didn’t yet have a room available. Ok, no big deal. My bags were placed into my coworkers room and we went out to explore the city. When we returned at 3:30, I stood in line for 20 mins before the person at the register telling me the hotel systems were down. Long story short, it took hours to come back up and be provided a room. We were given a drink ticket for the lobby bar. Apparently this happens on occasion to this location, so they’re used to angry customers. Room was decent, but the closet was miniature (barely held a week’s worth of outfits for work). Hotel was nice, but a bit outdated.

Traveling with spouse using scooter means we must do research in advance. Found Delta by Marriott from a traveling blog. Cost in US dollars was in the moderate range. The hotel was great. Accessible room was a good size. Bathroom was large and fully accessible. Staff was very nice and helpful. Computers available with full wifi. We did not eat in their restaurant as that was pricey, but a 10 minute walk away was a street full of great restaurants.

Room tip: Have accessible rooms

Although centrally located this hotel has seen better days. Inconvenient check-in ( 3 flights up), with accommodating staff who are lacking in hospitality attitude. Rooms are large and clean, but furniture and other amenities are from yesterday. Wallpaper and other treatments sorely in need of update. There are at least 40 better choices in Quebec.

The Delta Marriott Hotel was wonderful. From the first bonjour when we checked in until the last bonjour when we checked out. The rooms are clean and spacious. The hotel is within walking distance of almost everything...from Old Quebec City to the Grande Alle to Rue St. Jean. There is parking available. We highly recommend The Delta Marriott for your next visit to Quebec City.

Hotel entrance difficult to find due to construction: hotel should do a better job at signing.
Lobby all but inspiring, so was our room: supposedly corner unit (we had been given the wrong room initially)but window on one side only.....the plus side, please?? No safe in room, and squeaking bed....
Generally speaking, hotel shows its age.
All of this, maybe not that important, one could say.
But an unclean room, this matters!!
Unfortunately dusty night tables (hairs included), lamps and desk surface, along with pieces of popcorn on the carpet...not cool!
On the plus side, lounge at the top floor, despite its rather cramped organisation, is nice and sunny.

On a road trip around Canada, we were really disappointed by the standard of cleanliness and maintenance in this hotel. The location was fine and the staff were very professional but the cleanliness in the communal corridors was poor. Chewing gum was left in the bedroom corridors on at least two days of our stay, peeling wallpaper was poorly patched and very poor patching of paint on the wardrobe had been carried out. One of the queen beds in our room was broken and squeaked all night the refrigerator made banging noises and the a/c was extremely noisy. Hotel is in extreme need of an update. It was such a shame as Quebec is an amazingly beautiful city, and the staff were very helpful. We would not recommend or return to this hotel.
