The architecture and murals on the wall were out of this world. Sitting out on a patio people watching was great fun.

Cobblestones, quaint boutiques, a small church - what"s not to love? However, this area has a museum were you can dress up in 1800s style attire and take pictures in an authentic environment. My 7-year old LOVED it!

A great place to shop both for souvenirs and for quality products. On the lower level where you take the funicular up to old quebec. Very colorful, many restaurants, outdoor cafes.

Great old square, have a coffee and people watch, check out the huge mural just outside the Place Royal. You can picture the 17th century for a fleeting moment...

It's small but beautiful, and you can soak it in especially if you go early in the morning or happen to be there when it is not too crowded. We were staying a few blocks away and passed through many times over the course of five days. One evening a wedding party was coming out of the church -- too bad they didn't hire a horse and carriage (instead of the stretch limo) to fit in with the ambiance of the old square! We loved the sturdy stone buildings, rather simple and plain in architecture but they have stood the test of time and been carefully maintained.
