“Charming area”
Reviewed November 27, 2012

We walked through here a few times. Enjoyed people watching, enjoyed our self guided tour as well. This was a nice location to take photos of the old city center.

“Site of the first permanent French settlement in North America”
Reviewed October 30, 2012 via mobile

This plaza marks the very site where Samuel Champlain founded the city of Quebec. Though none of the original buildings are left, the sote of Champlain's first tradong post & storehouse are noted.

“Very nice”
Reviewed October 16, 2012 via mobile

It is reminiscent of the square in a small French town though I wouldn't carry the analogy too far. Still it is a pretty place. It is nice to look around and appreciate the age of the buildings, particularly Notre Dame des Victoires, the oldest surviving church in Quebec City. If you happen to be with a guide to explain the context and point out a few interesting things that is better but just wondering the square is a good investment of a half hour or more. It definitely provides a sense of the place as it was and helps you appreciate the preservationists of other centuries.

“Beautiful little square”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

Between the basse-ville and the vieux-ville, this is a charming square containing the church of Our Lady of Victories. Very reminiscent of village sqaures in France.
