This is the "original" part of the city down near the water's edge. It's still a working port except Lower Town is mostly restaurants, galleries, and souvenir shops. It's a trek down from the city proper, about 150 feet, which is accessible by stairs or funicular. Very historical; worth visiting.

Loved browsing all of the shops - antique & boutique. More expensive than I expected but it was fun to look.

took the funicular to the lower town and were pleasantly surprised to find a lovely old part of the city. We hadn't long to look around as we had limited time in Quebec but really pleased we took the time to go down to this part of the city as it is really charming

This is a growing fast paced area. Great shopping and great little coffee shops and restaurants. You could spend several days there.
