Very intimate setting. A couple of very good restaurants. If you're tired, take the funicular (A sort of outdoor elevator that rides an an incline; $2.50 each way).

I passed over Lower Town on my first visit to Quebec City – big mistake – it was my favorite part of the city on my second visit!

Wonderful historic area with tons of unique shops. I found the shops to be of higher quality and had more diversity of offerings than in Upper Town.

One note – EVERYTHING IN QUEBEC CITY IS ON A HILL – wear sensible shoes and you will be much happier on your walk about.

We couldn't get enough of these beautiful avenues! Just a note that many of the stores close early in the evening so to get most of it you should visit during the day, maybe before 6p. We were in the area on Sunday and Monday. Sunday was significantly more vibrant than Monday but they were both great.

Lots of history, beautiful buildings, and French ambience. A friend and I had a glass of wine on an outside deck on a warm sunny afternoon and listened to two different street performers playing a harp and a guitar at the little park next door.

Charming old world piece of real estate. You can feel transported to old Europe without leaving North America. Delightful assortment of art galleries, artisans, restaurants, coffee shops and boutique hotels. Walk down cobblestone streets. Dine on the sidewalk under arching trees. My only quibble was how many shops were closed on an earlier and glorious Saturday in June.
