“Of course you'll go there”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

It's small, and has as many if not more souvenir shops than historic venues to visit, but it makes for a very pleasant stroll. There are several shops run by local artisans, who sell made-in Quebec wares; they are worth supporting, and they enjoy talking about their work.

“Relax”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

When you get tired from sightseeing in Quebec visit the Lower Town. Find a nice caffee, have a drink and enjoy Quebec. Listen to the music and feel the flair.

“Historic”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

Well worth a wander for the many shops, cafes art galleries and historic buildings. Watch out for the wall art.
But it is a very steep climb back so take the funicular - just $2

“A slice of Europe...”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

What a quaint little section of Quebec City. The city scape is old world, and you feel like you are in Europe. We ate at a little outdoor cafe, and on a cool sunny fall day, we were transformed to Europe for a while.

This is a must do item while in Quebec City. I left with a few less dollars after my wife found a few shops for scarves, and other items, but ii is boutique shopping at its best.

“Avoid the crowds”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

It IS attractive and interesting but time it wrong and you can't move for tour groups.
(OK, I'm a tourist - but that doesn't mean I want to be in the middle of a huge crowd of them wandering aimlessly in all directions!)
As others have said, there are good resteraunts here but there are also grossly overpriced, mediocre ones - choose carefully.
Not an area for shopping - mostly expensive tourist tat.
