VERY touristy. The buildings are old and interesting, there are flowers everywhere, but the shops are just tourist shops with very little interesting in them. Visit once and be done.

We first got shown around this area as part of a guided walking tour which we then toured on our own and later went back for a meal. There were also a lot of artists shops in this area which were great to visit.

It's easy to take the funicular down and explore the shops and restaurants. Be sure to check out the fudgery, amazing dark chocolate. Plus, a neat kitchen shop and homemade scarf and tie shop, lots of people watching and activity.

So much to do, so little time! Beautiful place, like a little chunk of old Europe plopped down on our continent. Definitely not to be missed. Outstandingly lovely.
