The Haute-Ville is chocked full of eating, sleeping and drinking places. Some are your average joint that you'd find in any tourist area....but we found plenty of good to very good to excellent spots to keep any tourist busy and happy. We would rate our hotel as excellent (Le Manior d'Auteuil) and most of the eating places averaged very good. Our best surprise was the restaurant aux Anciens Canadiens--their best dishes are game, so don't go there unless you like game. To be fair Quebec City has lots of areas that offer food, drink and lodging at more reasonable prices than the Upper Town, but they lack the old city historical aspects, beauty and walkability.
