Ten minutes from the Citatel, this small hotel offered a comfortable room and beds. A continental breakfast was more than ample with fresh fruit, bagel, toast, yogurt, choice of juice, and coffee/tea, all with white linen and courteous service. Staff were extremely accommodating and set our bicycles in a safe place for 4 days, without fee. We chose parking on-site and did not need the car for the time we were there. Although metro, bus and bike rentals were available, we walked everywhere. The hotel is a ten minute walk from the Citadel, which puts you within reasonable distance from most areas. Desk personnel where extremely knowledgeable about the area, freebies, good local restaurants and such, all with charm and a smile. We would repeat another stay when in Quebec City.

Had a wonderful, long-weekend stay at this B&B. The room: ours was on the ground floor, we had a separate entrance via the back when the B&B front area closed late at night. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was nice and large, and we truly enjoyed our sleeps after much walking and eating around the city. The staff was friendly and professional, particularly Andrea. We had some trouble with our door but this was very quickly addressed and fixed. Re the location: our favourite part and definitely worth the price! Just a few short blocks up from the main wall and restaurant/bar area, and entrance to the city centre. Also, the B&B is a only a couple of steps to the beautiful Plains of Abr. park, also great for walking down to the city centre. Last, but certainly not least, re the breakfast: very good and just enough. There was a little menu with the morning's continental selections, which one ordered as needed. The croissants were our favourite. Would certainly stay at Relais C-A again, and recommend to friends :)

The staff goes out of their way to be friendly, courteous and helpful. They provided excellent advice. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The location was excellent to access all of the local sights. Local cuisine was top notch. All recommendations by the staff were excellent and provided a great holiday experience.

This Inn/B&B was in a great location on the Grand Allee near shops and restaurants on the pleasant Avenue Cartier. Lovely lobby and well-appointed, clean rooms. The breakfast area was light and cheery with art work tastefully hung on the walls. The breakfast itself was average--the croissants and muffins being the exception, and it never varied during the three days we were there. The staff was usually helpful, although there were a couple exceptions. A bit pricey but very convenient to places we wanted to go.

My at the time fiancee and I stayed here for one night in February. My sister and her boyfriend stayed a few blocks further down Grand Allee. We booked our rooms only 2 or 3 weeks out from Carnaval and had a hard time finding anything, but we lucked out with the Relais Charles-Alexandre. The hotel is simple, yet clean, inviting, and located perfectly as a base camp for Carnaval. We were easily able to hike in and out of the Old City, back and forth to the Plains of Abraham, and to and from restaurants in the FREEZING cold (below 0 Fahrenheit while we were there). The staff is friendly and accommodating (most speak both English and French). The breakfast is again, simple, yet adequate. Just a very comfortable place to stay. And, if you're there for Carnaval, the night parade goes right past the hotel (a definite bonus - although a little further towards the Old City you can mix with more drunken revelers outside hotels that have outside bars set up).
If you can find a place closer to the old city, other than that, this is the place to be.

We had a clean, well appointed superior queen on the 3rd floor. This was a typical Canadian/European hotel in that there are stairs but it was no big deal. The staff was friendly and spoke English very well. At my request, they had flowers waiting in the room when we arrived - it was my wife's birthday (and I got extra credit for that one). The only tiny negative with the room was that the water in shower the hotel was warm but never really got hot. The location was the best! It's right on the Grand Allee. We expected it to be a bit noisy but it was not. It's really easy to drive into and out of the city at this location. You can park right on site for just $9/day and walk everywhere. 15 minutes to the old city, 5 minutes to the plains of Abraham and just 2 min to to the art museum. We much preferred the cafes on Rue Cartier (just a block away) to the ones on the Grand Allee.

This is not a B&B, although breakfast is free. Get the croissant for breakfast. I got a bagel the second day and it was small and burnt. The first day, the croissant was perfect. Live and learn. Great location, clean and large rooms, flat screen TV. I like being close enough to the old part of the city but away from the noise. Also, rue Cartier has some excellent restaurants, a 5 minute walk away. Our air conditioner was quite loud when it came on, so we cooled the room before bed time and turned it off. Squeaky floors above us, but not very loud. Staff was helpful and attentive. Very comfortable two nights.
