“Gorgeous boutique hotel in downtown Quebec City”

I was there on business for a day and this hotel is absolutely gorgeous. Great service, friendly staff, absolutely fantastic, comfortable, modern rooms featuring and the gizmos you may need. Fantastic bedding, huge TV, nice work area. Will definitely want to return there. Free continental breakfast. Valet parking available.

Room Tip: I have seen suites that still feature an older CRT TV. Maybe you'll want to ask for a room that...

A brisk 2 block walk from the cruise terminal and about 6-7 blocks from the train station, this little gem right in the middle of the old port area of Quebec City (just 2 blocks from the lower "old town") is perfectly located. Rooms are large, extremely comfortable, and equipped with everything you need, and done is a sleek, understated but classic style.

My husband and I just came back from three nights at Le Germain-Dominion. After taking an express bus from Montreal, we actually walked to the Hotel which is located on a charming low-traffic cobblestoned street in the Old Port area of Quebec. Old World from the outside, it is quite sophisticated inside. Don't expect bellhops running around - we didn't see any nor did we require their services. (I'm sure they have them for those who arrive with lots of luggage) The staff goes the extra mile no matter what the request (need skim milk for cereal? No problem. We'll send someone to the store for it and be back shortly! They did and were!)
Bed is SUPREMELY comfortable and room is quiet. Complaints? Rooms are very dark - mood lighting rather than functional. No real breakfast room - some large communal tables scattered in the lobby and back room and lots of chairs to eat a large and lovely continental breakfast (included). The Hotel was full and fortunately the weather allowed us to eat outside on a back patio. Otherwise, this would have been a problem as we couldn't find seats when we came down. But these problems might be made up for by the wonderful location, staff and charm of this old converted building. It's definitely not your traditional hotel and is trying to be both old world and new world at the same time which might account for the problems I mention. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place

Room Tip: We had a corner room on the fifth floor (502) which had a lovely river view and was quiet - away fro...

Selected based on TripAdvisor recommmendation as a base for a 3 day tourist visit to Quebec. Located in the lower city close to the cruise port, which we preferred over the bustling upper city. Very quiet. Hotel is "funky", with a touch of "W" hotel style. Conversion of an old building into a hotel was done very well. Quirky but very functional and fun--the lighting was dim, however, due to the emphasis on ambiance over function. Beds were fabulous, a big plus in our book for our 60+bodies. Staff was helpful--no complaints. Breakfast was good, but the buffet is located at a bottleneck in the lobby where arriving guests, staff and breakfast eaters all converge. We'd certainly go back and would recommend to people OK with a non-traditional hotel experience.

My husband and I just returned from 8 wonderful and beautiful days in Quebec. What a great place to vacation! While there we stayed 3 nights at the Dominion in Quebec City. I left with mixed feelings; therefore this review is full of pros and cons.
The Pros: Great location in old city
Wonderful bed and linens
Loved the 24-hr coffee machine in the lobby - free expresso, latte, cappuccino
Very comfortable large lobby with lovely appointments and a fireplace (curious
that while we were there it was very cold and no fire . . .would have been nice)
Nicely decorated . . .modern, sophisticated
The Cons: Continental breakfast set up in lobby a disappointment (crowded at the buffet
table; difficult to eat in the large stuffed chairs; food spilled on the floor
not appetizing
We reserved a Deluxe room almost a year ahead in order to get an upper room
with a view of the river. We were told they didn't have one available which I am
sorry to say I did not believe. The girl at the desk then said our room was
better because it had a view of the upper old town which it did not unless you
could lean way out the window and twist left. The Deluxe room was quite a bit
pricier than the Superior room and all it added was some extra space and a
separate shower (rather than shower in the tub).
There is no restaurant which I would expect at this price. Also, no bar.

Overall, if you are prepared to spend $300 plus a night for a room, I would recommend the Auberge Saint-Antoine which is absolutely gorgeous and has one of the very best restaurants in town, Panache. We ate there once and loved it. Also ate at L'Echaude and Toast, both excellent and nearby in the lower old city.

Please know that your feedback is extremely valuable to us and we do appreciate it. For your information, all our deluxe rooms have the Old City view which is very nice. We do have the bar service in the lobby, just in front of the fireplace and room service is also available; we are more that happy to recommend very good and renowned restaurants because they are located right beside the hotel. For the breakfast that is included in you room rate, It’s true that the area is quite busy during peak season, like it is every summer, that’s why we have 3 different sections available for you to sit, especially outside on our nice terrace, so we hope to have the pleasure to welcome you back again and let you discover our friendly and relax atmosphere

The foyer, rooms, breakfast were all wonderful.
The bed and linen were exceptional.
This hotel is in a perfect location surrounded by beautiful restuarants and has a lovely feel of the old town.
