Great view of QCITY and the st Laurence river.

The fort tour guide was very entertaining for both knowledge of history and place.

Without him, it would not be as interesting.

The citadelle of Quebec is a must for anyone visiting Quebec. The history of the 22nd regiment was very interesting and the museum of the founding of Quebec and its military ordeals with the Americans and British was interesting as well. I saw the changing of the guard for the royal 22nd regiment which is the only one in the Canadian military that takes all of their orders in French, so the entire changing of the guard was as well.

The views across the St. Lawrence river were great and the view of the Frontenac was spectacular.

I only skirted around this, but it is part of the cities ancient protection and has a lot of history. Recommended.

The changing of the guards is definitely cool- be forewarned it isn't done in rain or high winds. We were going to do the tour and the guides were excited, but there were so many people and so much wind we couldn't hear, so we didn't stay.

The Citadelle is a an amazing army fort / stronghold preserved from the past, and a great monument to the current 22nd regiment that still occupies it.
Our tour guide was very informative and friendly.
I definitely recommend staying and doing the secondary tour that takes you inside the governor general's residence that is on site as well.
The only bad thing was that due to weather we did not get to go back the next day to watch the changing of the guard like we had hoped.... But you cant plan the weather!

I do recommend that you do the tour later in the day though... We had a nice small group where we could have better discussions and really talk with our guide - where as the couple tours that go right after the changing of the guard in the mornings are apparently huge groups of 30 - 40 people per guide.
