Owner description: Located in the Plains of Abraham, this statue of the French martyr is a tribute to the soldiers who died in the historic battle between the French and British that occurred here in 1759.

Situated in the Plains of Abraham park, the statue sits in the center of a nice garden, a few steps down from the walkway that surrounds the garden.

There is some historical information about Joan of Arc, and a plaque that mentions that the statue was an anonymous gift from an American couple to Quebec, with an explanation of how and when the statue was built.

A very nice statue surrounded by some beautiful landscaping of flowers and shrubbery. Nothing spectacular, but worth seeing if you have about an hour to spare.

See the flowers and gardens. Very restful and peaceful. An explanation of the various flowers is posted.

I don't want to discount this statue since it was a gift to Quebec. However, If you have seen the Joan Of Arc statue in Amboise, France, it is much smaller & without the men falling under Joan's horse.
The most impressive part to me was the parc/garden the statue was placed.
We just happened upon it, looking for a place to picnic. The garden steps down, with the statue in the center of the rectangle. we had our picnic above admiring the garden! There was a
wedding taking place, so we did not realize
until later it was Joan of Arc.
Definitely worth it, bring a picnic. Beautiful surroundings.

English style garden, expertly planted and tended. Wonderful to stroll through or to have a picnic or afternoon coffee.

Nice spot to view beautiful gardens. There is a lot to learn about Canadian History at this tourist attraction. Nice place to sit and relax a bit while visiting the Plain of Abraham.
