“Could have been better, but overall, Very Good”
Reviewed March 18, 2012

Stayed here four nights with my husband and two kids, aged 11 and 9. Booked two rooms, and asked for them to be connecting. Called the hotel directly before we arrived and spoke with Reservations who assured us the rooms would be connecting. Of course, upon check-in at the hotel, our rooms were not connecting, and not even on the same floor. The check-in agent would do nothing for us. Just told us to come back in the morning to see if we could get connecting rooms then. Had to argue for something to be done, and to get the Supervisor involved, but eventually, it was all straightened out.
The hotel seemed very nice, and was promoted as an upscale hotel, yet during our stay, the Breakaway Tours kids were staying at this hotel, which meant that the hotel was FULL of partying students away on spring break. To us, this made the hotel look cheap, as these kids were constantly in and out of the hotel with cases and cases of beer, crowding around the elevators, swearing like sailors, throwing garbage everywhere, and also smoking in throngs outside the main entrance and throwing their butts everywhere. These kids were up until all hours, screaming and partying all night. We felt like we were staying in a budget hotel.
Definitely make a point of checking out L'Astral restaurant at the top of the hotel - in the revolving restaurant. The view is impressive. We ate there for breakfast two mornings in the same week, and all ordered the exact same meal since we enjoyed it so much. The interesting thing was that the same meals were very different and inconsistent with the first visit there. Otherwise, a treat.

Rooms were very clean and very large.
We could not use the parking garage as our vehicle was too high, but we did find outdoor parking around the corner from the hotel.

Stayed two nights at Loews recently. All in all was a good experience. Average rating based on what once would expect for price, and some drawbacks that could certainly ruin some peoples stay. Personally, check in, valet, parking arrangements were all up to snuff. No problem and all pretty efficient.

Positives

Large room with comfortable beds. Good TV, great view if you're up higher. We were on 15 and gorgeous. Downstairs lounge was quite and nice place to chat over a cocktail. Younger crowd will love the location, right smack in the middle of everything. Good coffee in rooms.

Negatives

Street noise could be a problem. As stated we were on 15 and with windows shut could still here the partying at the large bars situated beside hotel. It's actually surprising how much you can hear the street!!! We were facing Chateau Frontenac direction so may have contributed as bars are on that side. Goes till 3, so I would figure anything below 10th floor would be rough for light sleepers!!!! Had some snacks in lounge, were absolutely horrible!!! Sunday breakfast time runs till 9:00 before brunch, not 10:00 as is posted in rooms. (Missed breakfast, no biggie but...)

All in all, enjoyed the stay. Would return again based on acceptable service and great views of the city!!!

I've traveled to Quebec City dozens of times since I was a young girl. I've stayed many places from Auberge Internationale de Québec (hostel) to Le Château Frontenac but always enjoy coming back to Le Concorde. I have always stayed with my family but wanted to show my boyfriend the city, and booked a weekend getaway for just the two of us. We stayed in a luxury king room for a very reasonable price with the $25 per night credit. The room exceeded my expectations as it was very spacious and on the 20th floor! We had beautiful views of Le Château and the St. Lawrence River. It was so nice that after we had finished walking around the old city we returned to the room early to enjoy a bottle of wine next to the large overlooking window before our dinner at L'Astral (which was also fabulous)! There was also a coffee maker in the room with togo cups which made it nice for traveling outside in the cold.

The hotel has a perfect location right next to les plaines d'abraham and a short walk (about 10 minutes) from the old city. I, personally, think the walk down to the old city is a wonderful experience all in itself (and its good to get a little exercise). Most nights we would cut through the les Plaines d'Abraham (which is a large historic battlefield filled with little winding pathways lit by streetlights). It felt like we were the only people in the park, twinkling lights and snow all around us.

It was such a beautiful, romantic getaway and everything at Le Concord was perfect, from the complimentary evening hot chocolate in the lobby to the smiling faces of the whole staff, we will be returning once again!

We stayed at this hotel during a very quiet period, towards the end of December, for 2 nights.

The hotel is very well located, right on Grande-Allée, with good restaurants in the vicinity: Le Milsa is across the street, and the best poutine place in town, Chez Ashton, is a few blocks away! There's also Second Cup and McDonalds very close by if you want a nice coffee or a cheap breakfast. That being said, it's a further walk to get the Old City, around 10 minutes walking straight down Grande Allée. Personally we didn't mind the walk, but if you want to be closer (or right inside), you might want to choose a different place (and be prepared to pay for it).

The hotel itself is very nice with a distinctive architecture and a rooftop revolving restaurant. The room was spacious, with a big closet, and equipped with single-serve Keurig coffee machine (nice touch!). We had a beautiful view of the parlaiment, St. Lawrence river, etc. The bathroom was also nice, nothing special, but nice and fairly modern.

We got this hotel for a great deal off of priceline (low season). You can find good deals if you stay in Ste. Foy, but believe me it's not worth the hassle, you're better off leaving the car in the parking garage and walking around the city. There's also a good bus system to get you around. We took the train into town and managed with a taxi to and from the hotel.

Overall I found there was great value for money in this hotel, but it's probably on the same level as Delta or Hilton in Quebec City (not Chateau Frontenac, which is a class in it's own). I would definitely go back!

Stayed three nights. Check in couldn't have been easier. I used work rewards points. I pulled to the front ran in side and reservation was ready. They let me check in at 2PM as room was ready. Parking was 24 per day in the garage. They gave me a card so I could come and go with car in garage as I please. But ran into an issue the second morning. My card did not work. There was a button to push for help. The person (female ) I spoke to was very rude.. I tried to explain but she kept telling me to put a credit card in and come to desk. She wanted nothing to with listening just wanted to get her words in. She was very rude. Anyway it was quite inconvenient. Used the work out room and also played ping pong. Beds very comfortable and a great television with cable. Internet use was not free. Had to pay 13.00 if I wanted to use. Have stayed here in the past and will in the future. I will just question the parking scene better the next time.

Went here with a group of middle schoolers from my daughter's school. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Lobby was relatively small given the large groups, including ours, that were gathering there every morning. A nice touch was a large Starbucks coffee bar with large silver bowls of chilled Fiji water bottles that was available one morning. We did not try the restaurant, room service or bar. My only complaint is that the elevators were horrendous. Only 3 of the 4 were working and that meant waits of up to 10 minutes for an elevator in the morning when large groups were checking out. I didn't try the stairs because I was told by one of the teachers on the trip that they were bizarrely configured and a long trip. In additon, we had a child fall ill and the manager informed me that we only had to dial "0" and would be connected to a doctor on call. The teacher in charge was never able to connect to a doctor despite speaking excellent French and multiple calls. A very satisfactory spot except for some technical failures.

On our way back from the East Coast we decided to stay a couple of nights in QC. We were fortunate to secure a room and wow, what a view! We also traveled with 2 smaller dogs and our room came equipped with dog bowls, blanket and biscuits. They also provided a list of dog sitters which we used and they were wonderful. The room/beds were very comfortable and the hotel is ideally situated in the dining and historic district. The hotel is a stone's throw to the Plains of Abraham where they host the music concerts during the Festival Ete. The staff are warm and very friendly. All future stays in QC will be at Loews Le Concorde Hotel.
