Great service from the moment we walked in. Extremely friendly staff that would greet you even in the evenings as you came back to the hotel. Great location for shopping and eating out. Truly an enjoyable stay at Clarendon!

The hotel is in the middle of old town and convenient to everything. We came for the winter carnival, which was only a 10 minute walk away. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. To our surprise, they checked us in early which made it possible for my young daughter to take her afternoon nap (Thank you for that front desk!!!) They upgraded us to a big beautiful, renovated superior room with two, very comfy, queen beds. Everything was clean and worked great. The hotel does shows it's age a little here and there, but nothing to complain about.
I can't say enough about the staff. We had a few out of the ordinary requests for our daughter and everyone we encountered went out of there way to accommodate us.
Our only negative comment is there's only one guy working as valet, concierge and bellman. It just wasn't enough. The poor guy was clearly frustrated and it took a long time to get the car or to ask for directions etc. Certainly nothing to keep me from highly recommending this hotel. It's a winner in my book!

Room Tip: Upgrade to the superior rooms

Dear guest,
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are glad you really enjoyed your stay at the Hotel Clarendon. I have transmitted your good words to the employees; it is always nice to have a feedback about it. As for the busy concierge, it is very unfortunate that we were not able to reach you level of expectation. We will be very careful about it in the future in order to improve, thank you! Looking forward to greet you again!

We booked the Clarendon as an adjunct for an apartment rental half a block away for christmas, as a room for two of our (adult) kids.

The hotel is perfectly located for old Quebec, and, for any doubters, in a week stay, we encountered nothing but kindness and helpfulness from every quebecois (sp) we were in contact with, honestly without exception - I know, shocking....who knew...!

The hotel is ok, good lobby area, good bars rooms, ok but not great - in fact, as a destination, for the price point, certainly ok, and as a jump off point for the city, perfect, but a little touristy otherwise (I guess, how could it be otherwise, given the location).

All in all.....ok....sorry, if you can add to this (by the way, at night in winter, the facade, glistening with snow and ice, is majestic), please do!

Thanks

Dear guest,
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are glad you enjoyed the Clarendon. As you say, we are right in the heart of Old Québec, in a walking distance to many attractions such as the Chateau Frontenac, Grande Allée and the Harbour. If you enjoyed winter, make sure to try during other seasons as well, as each has its own charm. We are looking to great you again in the future!

My fiance and I recently spent three nights in Quebec City, and stayed at the Hotel Clarendon. With the prices of a room being super reasonable, we were thrilled with the quality of service the hotel offered! The receptionist staff was absolutely incredible, always answered our touristy questions, and would help us with a smile on their faces when we asked for directions. The concierge/valet's were also amazing and courteous! The room was phenomenal and very clean. The location of the hotel is also perfect; it is central to mostly everything Quebec has to offer, and with in walking distance too. Our trip to Hotel Clarendon was so nice that we even asked if we could stay an extra night. I would recommend this hotel for anyone planning a trip to Quebec!

I was at the Hotel Clarendon by accident, courtesy of Air Canada because my flight was diverted to YQB because YUL had closed due to an ice storm while my flight was in the air. But this was a happy accident, as the Clarendon is a classic hotel like my favorites such as the Sir Francis Drake in San Francisco. Because it was a one night stay, I did not realize it was so close to Vieux Quebec, the old city, which makes it a fantastic alternative to the famous classic behemoth or the sterile modern American chain behemoth. The room was classic, good sized, nice bathroom and plenty of space for working with a good desk and chair, and very good wi-fi connection. The restaurant had a nice if slightly pricey (but not out of line for top business hotels) breakfast buffet that was high quality and delicious so I can't really complain. So this review is based on brief and first impressions but I look forward to returning for a longer stay, say a long weekend vacation, so watch this space for an update. Merci beaucoup! :)

Dear guest,
Thank you for your review. We are glad we helped in a better outcome in your flight misadventure. As you said, we are right in the center of the Old Québec, which is perfect if you want to be able to only walk around. We have worked hard in the last year in order to improve the Hotel Clarendon, but always while keeping in mind the classic side, since we are the oldest hotel in old Québec. We will be pleased to welcome you again on your next visit!

What our family of 4 (parents with 18 and 25 year old) liked: 1. Great location, close to resturants, shopping and pier etc. 2. Very Charming and comfortable. 3. Staff was minimal because of Christmas holiday but friendly and helpful. 4. Clean

Didn't like: We had to remake the two queen beds because the sheets did not go to the foot of the beds. WEIRD to say the least and when we asked for more sheets to cover the bed abnd showed them the bed they didn't offer to help correct things or make the bed but did bring what we asked for. They didn't make the bed correctly the next day either which we would have thought they would have communicated to staff to fix it the very next morning.

Breakfast was pricey but had good choices and decent. When my husband and I went to the lobby in the morning to sit and wait for our kids we went to get some coffee from the resturant and it was tuff squeezing a free cup of coffee out of them without the third degree. We weren't asking for anything special, just a cup of coffee. The heating in the room was a noisey rattle but we were so tired at the end of the day that it only bothered us for the first 20 min of trying to get to sleep.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for queen if that's what you want otherwise you will get standards and they are s...

Dear guest,
Thank you for your review. It is unfortunate that you had an issue with the sheets, and with your waiting coffee. There is a manager on duty every day from 9am to 7pm, which can always assist you when situations happen and you are not satisfied with the action taken. This way we could have made sure you had a perfect stay at the Hotel Clarendon. Make sure to contact me directly for your next stay, so I can offer you the best available room at the best possible price. Looking forward to make up for the inconveniences you had to go through.

You could not ask for a better location right in the middle of the old section of Quebec City. The hotel is walking distance to everything within the "old walled section" of the city. Short walk over to the St. Lawrence waterfront and plenyt of great cafes and bistros nearby. The people at the hotel were very accomodating with storage of luggage on checkout day which allowed us an extra day to explore the city.

Room Tip: Plenty of good small eateries within a 2 block walk.
