“Fantastique!”

What a great museum! Wish we'd had more time here. The exhibit about People of Quebec, Now and Then, was well organized. The Samuri exhibit was great. Wish we'd had more time here but we tacked it on to the end of our day and only saw those two things.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

How much you enjoy this may depend on the temporary exhibitions on when you go. However the permenant exhibitions include an excellent history of the province, the story of the First Nations and a (rather vague) section about the landscape.
If you like museums, it's easy to spend an interesting couple of hours (or more) here. As a non-Canadian, it was good to learn a little of the relevant history.

“see Samurai exhibit Feb 2013”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

I didn't have time to see the whole museum, just the "First nations" and the special Samurai exhibit. The samurai exhibit was woth the $14 admission alone. Those are some scary dudes! There are many full suits of armor and even more helmets and other accesories. The First nation exhibit was also very good, but try to see the samurai costumes.

“A great place to find out all about Quebec's history”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

We spent a very hot September afternoon in this lovely (cool!)museum but an afternoon was not enough to take it all in, so we concentrated on the Encounter with First Nations and People of Quebec...Then and Now exhibitions. Fascinating! Definitely recommended although we did consider it a bit pricey, compared to similar museums in the UK, many of which are free nowadays.

“Worth visiting”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

Good artifacts, and very good explanation of the evolution and history of Quebec. It's a beautiful, bright building, tucked away on an upscale street that's lined with art galleries and shops - very different feel than the Upper or Lower towns.
