“Built by Scots to French design - need I say more?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 13, 2013

Petit Champlain is lovely. I did not find one chain store nore a restaurant chain BUT it was a picturesque area full of individual shops and restaurants, all staffed by friendly, welcoming Quebecois. Visiting in December meant that it was really cold outside, but the warmth of the welcome in either French or English was enough to make up for the weather. Will I visit again - Definately. Because of the ancient construction of the buildings, there are steps everywhere which make its difficult for those in wheelchairs, but friendly satff will always help you!

“Nice - better than Old Montreal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 6, 2013

Lots of small boutiques and galleries. The artwork in the galleries is a good mix and not bad. The boutiques are nice - some higher end. Not too much souvenir schlock (like you find in Montreal). Very pleasant for walking

“Highlight”

We went to Quebec City in November and the weather was unseasonably cold but the trip down to the Quartier was well worth the time. It is definitely my favorite neighbourhood in Quebec City.

Very cozy touristy area with great atmosphere, lots of stores and restaurants and beautiful views of narrow, curvy streets
