Owner description: These 275-foot falls on the Montmorency River tower higher than even the legendary Niagara Falls. The 2013 season promises to be exhilarating for people who will visit Parc de la Chute-Montmorency – Montmorency Falls, the second most visited site of the provincial capital after Old Quebec. The highlight of all the new summer activities is certainly the opening of two via ferrata routes built in the Boischatel fault near the waterfalls. Via ferrata – this is Italian for “iron roads” - is an activity accessible to everyone over 12 years old that combines hiking and rock climbing. The two paths are built on the rock face on the eastern side of the waterfall. The less adventurous will also be able to get stunning views of the 83-meter high waterfall aboard the cable car which now runs with sparkling new cabins. History buffs will be glad to know that guided tours are now offered each weekend in the company of Sir Frederick Haldimand, who served as Governor of Quebec from 1778 to 1786 and Mathilde Robin, best known as the Lady in White, who lost her fiance during the Montmorency Battle in 1759. Guided tours are offered in French or English until Labour Day weekend.

Nice place to get out and do some walking. Parking alone costs $11 so plan accordingly. The falls are pretty spectacular and there's a boardwalk, bridge and path one can take that goes over the top side and then down stairs to a path on the far side.

Saw the falls on a tour. They were amazing but we didn't get enough time to thoroughly enjoy them. If I return, I would do the falls on my own rather than take a tour so that I could totally enjoy the day at my leisure.

Beau a toute saison ...

In spring it is the raw water ... Fall is big ... In the summer the park and getting wet in the fall it's fun. The fall colors all around! One can observe the full color orleans island. Beautiful ... Winter just slide on the mound created before falling in a natural way.

Save your money and time... you can see this great waterfall from the highway. It was $11 to park our car and then additional costs to take the cable car to the top. Very pretty- but you can see it all from the highway. Go to Canyon Ste. Anne instead, less money and you truly experience the waterfall!

Don't make the mistake of missing out on this attraction while you're in the area. It's super close to Quebec city and very easy to get to. The pictures don't do it justice, so don't skim over this location while planning your trip. A few pointers, if you're planning on going. EAT BEFORE AND BRING YOUR OWN DRINK. I payed like 4$ for a water bottle.. YIKES. The prices are super jacked up because it's a touristy area. Other than that, prepare to buy a one way lift ticket for 9/person (one way) for the best possible view. From there you can use the stairs to hike down to avoid paying another 9/person. Parking is also 7$. If you have the available funds and want to spend a few hours with your jaw dropped and heart rate fast, then this would be a great spot to stop by and see. I also noticed a bunch of parks for children throughout the park, so if you have little ones, they will have plenty to do as well!
