Owner description: These 275-foot falls on the Montmorency River tower higher than even the legendary Niagara Falls. The 2013 season promises to be exhilarating for people who will visit Parc de la Chute-Montmorency – Montmorency Falls, the second most visited site of the provincial capital after Old Quebec. The highlight of all the new summer activities is certainly the opening of two via ferrata routes built in the Boischatel fault near the waterfalls. Via ferrata – this is Italian for “iron roads” - is an activity accessible to everyone over 12 years old that combines hiking and rock climbing. The two paths are built on the rock face on the eastern side of the waterfall. The less adventurous will also be able to get stunning views of the 83-meter high waterfall aboard the cable car which now runs with sparkling new cabins. History buffs will be glad to know that guided tours are now offered each weekend in the company of Sir Frederick Haldimand, who served as Governor of Quebec from 1778 to 1786 and Mathilde Robin, best known as the Lady in White, who lost her fiance during the Montmorency Battle in 1759. Guided tours are offered in French or English until Labour Day weekend.

We paid $10.50 CAD to park and everything was free to enjoy. We went in and checked out the small historical information area inside the Manor and then ventured out to see the falls. We noticed we were able to take a bridge over the falls. Beautiful. Also you may take the stairs to the foot of the falls for another incredible view. They also offer a cable car but it is over priced. At the bottom of the stairs you may go to the left or the right if you go to the right you will get very wet! Our son got soaked from being right near the mist of the Falls. He claims this as being the highlight of his trip to Quebec City!

We enjoyed the walk around the falls back to the parking lot. We started from the upper lot and those who didn't walk picked us up in the lower lot. It wasn't too strenuous and not too long.

Very pretty area. This was one of the many places we vistied on our country tour. If we had not taken the tour we would have missed this beautiful area. Loved it.

Have visited both the top of the falls (September 2005) and now the bottom. Preferred the bottom. It is just beautiful, and you can really get up close and personal (as in wet) without all the difficult walking. Any tour that gets you there is well worth the money.

Not as big as Niagra Falls but taller. Well worth the trip just outside of Quebec. You can take the tram to the top and walk the bridge crossing the over the falls or climb the watch towers along side of the falls. Both options provide spectacular views. Check out the view finders in the station that have pictures of the falls in all various seasons.
