“Very good, but somewhat pricy”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

We were three and all took the 5-dish gastronomic menu (50$ per person). Overall, it was a nice meal, and we loved the duck which was very well prepared (with cranberries). The bison was transmogrified into a deer....not the best venison we ever got.
The raw oisters were delicious, but I was surprised by their temperature (room temperature) and not fresh. However, they were careful to preserve the sea water, which is in my opinion an excellent idea (we do not like oisters that have been extensively washed). The salad and shrimps were good.
The wine list is extensive, and the prices of the wine are very acceptable.

“They don't appear to be trying very hard”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

After reading the reviews l was looking forward to visiting this restaurant. But nearly every aspect was a disappointment. We ordered 5 dishes and drinks. After receiving our drinks we were ignored for 20 minutes or so - at which point in time all of the dishes and bread were brought to the table at once.
Worse . The food was mediocre at best.

My wife and I are huge fans of tapas-style restaurants so we were prepared to enjoy this place. But unfortunately, Le Cercle is just not very good.

“Trendy”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

Well it started off meeting a young man at a bar named Sam who said if we wanted to try excellent food to go to Le Cercle. Sam worked there and said we would not be disappointed and he was right. We sat at the bar and met an experienced Sommelier named Patrick who hooked us up with some wonderful wines. We had a few tapas which were very tasty and went well with Patrick’s selections. No doubt my friend Sam had something to do with those wonderful tapas. I will definitely go back and recommend to Le Cercle to anyone I know who goes to Quebec City.

“Good Fresh Food at Great Prices”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

This restaurant, which is well-known for its fresh game, was recommended by the folks at Auberge Le Vincent. It is a small, storefront restaurant in an area where there are many such restaurants and so could have been easily missed. However, this is not a place you should miss. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine, an appetizer of elk tartare, and entrees that included pheasant and fresh halibut. Everything smelled so good and tasted even better. The desserts we ordered were not as good as the entrees, but also didn't cost an arm and a leg. The restaurant can seat perhaps 40 people and the night we were there it was packed with many young people from the area. Cost for the meal including the bottle of wine, desserts, and coffee came to about $50 per person.

“Great food great atmosphere”
Reviewed September 14, 2012

My husband and I found this restaurant during the Wine Festival. We had drinks that night, and while there we made reservations for dinner the following night.

We loved the atmosphere. It's very modern, and they were playing an avant-garde film on the wall. With all this we would have expected the waitstaff to be snobby, but they weren't at all. They were very friendly and helpful with the menu and with drinks.

We got the Fixed Price option (salad, entree, and dessert) in addition to some Tapas to start. We loved everything we got. Tip: Order one of their specialty cocktails, they are created in house and are great!

This place has a great vibe, matched with great food. I highly recommend it!
