“Great B&B, very friendly!”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

I stayed here for four nights and I loved it! Madame Balti and her husband are very friendly, chatty and helpful, and make great breakfasts! This is an ideal stop for people who are on a budget and who simply want a base to tour the city from - a roof over their heads, breakfast in the morning, and a comfortable bed to sleep in. The B&B is located in the Old Town which means that all the tourist spots are very accessible and within walking distance. While the hosts do speak English, you'll get a lot more out of conversations if you can communicate in French (it was great practice for me!). I have no complaints at all and really recommend it! Merci Madame Balti! :)

Room Tip: Rooms with ensuite bathrooms are available too!

Four of us stayed six nights and were pleased with the convenient location, the comfortable, clean rooms with bath, the friendliness and helpfulness of Madame Balti and her husband, Ahmed, and of course the delicious homecooked breakfasts. Ahmed is a taxi driver and can meet you and take you back to the airport.

Room Tip: If climbing steps is a problem, ask for the second floor.

This is a very friendly and accomodating b&b. The host, Madame Balti, is very friendly, funny and serves a great breakfast. The b&b is very accessible and convenient in the "Old Town".
Madame Balti's husband is very helful also, with serving breakfast and advising where to go and what to do in the area. He has his own taxi service.

Great location - easy walk to all sites in upper walled city -- and 15 minute walk to everything in lower walled city too. Hosts were excellent -- we had a very early train (7:45 a.m.) and she gave us breakfast at 6:55 and called a taxi for us. Room was quiet and comfortable with remodeled bathroom in room. I would definitely go back if ever in QC again.

Room Tip: back of the house facing the alley -- not that there is much street noise in front

We were so lucky to have come across B&B Saint-Louis for our 4 day trip to Quebec City. It is located within the walls of Old Quebec on one of the main streets with a pleasant and manageable amount of daily foot traffic. The building was QC's first City Hall and is full of architectural character and charm. We had a nice size room (furnished with a bed, sitting chair, desk, and dresser) with an en suite bathroom. The only complaint was that there was a bit of an "old" musty smell in the room that was probably due to the age of the building.

The hosts were wonderful and welcoming. When we first arrived they had cookies and beverages for us and gave us a run down of the city. Having read several of the reviews before booking this B&B, we were excited to experience the infamous breakfasts-- what we were served managed to exceed our expectations. We ate crepes, eggs, fresh bread, yogurt, fruit, etc- every day was different.

I would highly recommend this B&B when visiting Quebec City. You really couldn't ask for a better location and accommodation for the price.

Within the walls of Old Quebec and steps to the Chateau Frontenac, this B&B is an experience of a time past, with its beautiful old architecture and airy rooms. Don't look for modern amenities, but don't let this keep you away, as the level of comfort is great. the hosts' welcome is warm and their homemade breakfasts are delicious. It is ideally located for exploring old Quebec, and I would recommend it for both singles and families. The only caveat: the stairs may be difficult to navigate for people with mobility problems. All in all, a great find that we will be revisiting.

Room Tip: Some rooms have a shared bathroom, which means they are less expensive, so specify whether you wish...
