Owner description: A creative chocolate shop and an informative small chocolate museum where visitors can learn about the history of chocolate. The Chocolate Museum is free, self guided and displays more than 200 artifacts and objects related to chocolate history. All the displays now have their English version. Two video are presented (Artisan Chocolate Making and the Industrial Chocolate Making Process (French), from the cocoa tree to the chocolate bar). Watch the chocolatiers at work through a window while you try one of our 10 renowned hot chocolates. In the boutique, the chocolate lovers will find a great variety of classic and audacious handmade chocolates (try the Biquette, a chocolate with goat cheese and Bartlett pear puree!). Indulge yourself with one of our chocolate pastries (chocolate brownies, cookies, cupcakes and decadent chocolate cake) and during the summer, let yourself be tempted by one of the 69 homemade ice cream, sorbet, frozen yogourt and tofu offered! Érico is located in the Faubourg Saint-Jean Baptiste, a convivial part of the city, outside the touristic old walls, that is worth the visit.

This place is addictive ! A wide variety of delicious homemade chocolates, hot chocolate, cookies and especially a wide selection of homemade ice-cream (eat in a cone or a dish). The very small economuseum explains how chocolate is made, etc.

“Nice Little Chocolate Shop”
Reviewed June 25, 2012

Okay so it is technically a museum, but that might give the wrong impression. It's really just a very nice chocolate shop with some historical items in the second room. It's worth checking out if you're in the area or want to buy some candy, but it's not a major tourist destination.

“Yummy and informative.”
Reviewed June 21, 2012

The museum is a great history of chocolate, but not all the information was in French and English. Most was French only. The chocolate sculptures are fascinating. A cone of chocolate ice cream at the end of the tour is the highlight.

“Small, free, and informative.”
Reviewed May 30, 2012 via mobile

The museum is a small section of the shop. There are also machines that take quarters only to sample the chocolate. The museum part will take you 15 minutes at the most as it is a one room exhibit. Buy some unique flavored chocolate!

“THE best chocolate in town!”
Reviewed May 8, 2012

If you want to incorporate some chocolate into yoru day, this is the place to go. It has a little museum part, they have a great variety of chocolates, some with very original flavours, the hot chocolate is really exceptional, they have recently started making their own caramel on site, and also have home made ice cream in the summer. There is also a little window through which you can watch them make chocolate. Yes, there is not much space to sit inside, but you can take the chocolate with you. If not the cheapest of places, it is certainly worth the money, and worth visiting at least once.
