La Victorienne Urbaine
Ranked #24 of 120 Quebec City B&B and Inns
Reviewed January 26, 2013

La Victorienne Urbaine
We wanted to try an Bed and Breakfast. We had never stayed in such an accommodation before. Our choice fell on La Victorienne Urbaine in Quebec. What a great experience! What a great landlady and owner and what a cosy and well kept bed and breakfast!

Rooms:
The room was very nicely decorated with modern and at the same time classical furniture and decor. Light and comfortable colors. Curtains which could blend out daylight and prevent anybody looking into the room. Warmly decorated and nice bathroom with tiles in the shower and very nice interior. The room was very clean and felt comfortable and "homey" at the same time. The room had also a couple of wine glasses nicely put in a small straw basket. We stayed there in end of December and there was a bag of tasty home made cookies waiting in the room.

The La Victorienne Urbaine has three rooms and a suite. In addition there is a living room and kitchen where we as guests could enjoy ourselves. It was very nice to sit in the public area and read and talk.

Service:
We were warmly greeted by Elizabeth the landlady and owner of La Victorienne Urbaine. She gave us slippers we could borrow during our stay and showed us to our room. She gave a good and thorough introduction to La Victorienne Urbaine. After we had settle in our room she offered to give some general information about the area and how to get downtown. She gave us a booklet of Quebec and detailed information about public transport downtown. She answers all our questions and was so nice and service minded. We felt so welcomed and the La Victorienne Urbaine has such a nice an cosy atmosphere.

Location:
La Victorienne Urbaine is located a little outside the city center, but there is good public transport options to get downtown. The buses are running frequently. We walked downtown and used about 40-45 minutes to the old city.

La Victorienne Urbaine offers complementary parking right outside the building so it felt very safe to park our car there while we explored the city. La Victorienne Urbaine is not fare from one of the main roads leading to Quebec City center and it was not difficult to find.

Breakfast:
Our hostess served us home made and fresh breakfast every day. Freshly squeezed juice, fruit salads, fresh bread and a warm dish. The food was exquisite and healthy. We experienced different dished for breakfast the days we stayed there.

La Victorienne Urbaine gave us a great first time experience with bed and breakfasts. The atmosphere and service were great. The rooms and public areas were clean and well kept. We can truly recommend La Victorienne Urbaine. If we visit Quebec again we know where we will stay!!!

PS! The landlady has a very lovely and nice Golden Retriever, so if you are allergic be aware. We are not and we enjoyed the company of this loving dog!

Elizabeth the owner truly went out of her way to make it a stay to remember in her beautiful house! We were very lucky to have the upstairs suite to ourselves and it was amazing! The bathroom looked like it belonged in a catalogue and I felt really spoilt and pampered staying in such a nice house. Elizabeth really treated us well and gave us lots of tips and information about the city. The breakfasts she made were delicious and I still think about them now!

It is definitely worth staying a little out of the city centre to stay here and it was great fun exploring different routes into town,

This was absolutely the friendlist, warmest and most beautiful B & B I have ever stayed in. I was sad when we had to leave! A brilliant place.

We travelled in August 2010.

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful! If you are able to go for the suite then do , it is gorgeous.

We are just back from Quebec- and our stay in this B&B was just too good to be true. The house was so beautiful - loved the interiors. Very neat and clean. Big rooms and Spacious. Now the best part of our stay was Elisabeth. Never seen such a loving host. She was very helpful, informative and so charming. She touched our hearts with her hospitality. I would surely recommend this place to anyone who is planning to visit Quebec. It was just 5mins away from the Old Quebec city and all other attractions. Thank you Elisabeth for providing us such a good stay -Definitely will see you again sometime soon

Room Tip: The 1st floor - Big rooms - Cosy beds - Big bathroom

We stayed in the suite with my parents and children for 2 nights. It was beautiful and comfortable. Elizabeth gave us all the information we need for our stay in Quebec. She told us about all the great restaurants and the places we couldnt miss out on. The breakfast was wonderful and it filled my 17 year old son. i would recommend it for everyone, and would love to go back some day.

This B&B was absolutely ideal. From the minute we pulled into the private off street parking we were greeted by Elizabeth (the owner). She is so warm and welcoming and made our three day stay as perfect as could be. The rooms were totally equipped and her three course breakfasts could keep you going for half a day. The food was creative and very delicious. Elizabeth went out of her way to make sure that you planned the correct itinerary, and had several great recommendations. Overall, our stay in this B&B was one of the most enjoyable we've ever experienced.
One more thing: Elizabeth's dog Maggie is as loving as you would ever want a pet to be.

We loved everything about this place. The hostess, Elisabeth, was outstanding. Great breakfast, hospitality, and recommendations on where to eat and how to navigate around the city. The place was extremely charming with a very nice sitting area.
