“We highly recommend this bed and breakfast”
Reviewed July 4, 2011

This is a three room bed and breakfst located in a beautiful home. Our Hostess was very welcoming and made us feel like family. The breakfasts were beautifully prepared and very delicious. The room was large and very comfortable and all the facilities are up to date. A very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

We loved our stay here. I can't begin to explain how kind and helpful the hostess was. She really wanted to make sure we got to see all the best things and gave pointers on which activities and restaurants were the best. Breakfasts were truly gourmet. Hostess was excited to see us when we returned for the day and she wanted to know what we had seen and what we enjoyed. She has a lovely golden retriever called Maggie who is perfectly trained and not allowed near the guest rooms. The room was gorgeous, well painted, very clean, and was well stocked (even q-tips and a hairdryer). We stayed in Room 3, which we loved. Her website should probably have more pictures of the rooms, but don't worry; all the rooms are lovely. Great roomy shower and well laid out bathroom. Mattress was a comfortable but little firm for us; we're used to sleeping on fluff. :)

The location is on the bus route and is walking distance to the main tourist sites in Quebec City. We walked everywhere easily. (I suppose if you don't get much exercise or are elderly, you should opt for the bus.)

Room Tip: We loved room 3

This was our last stop on a trip from Toronto to Quebec and although almost on our way back, we really felt at home here. The house is lovely and Elisabeth a really great host: her wonderful breakfast (homemade rose-hip jam!) and the detailed advice on how to best spend our limited time in the city made this one of the highlights of our trip.
If we ever come back to the area, we will definitely return to the Victorienne Urbaine.

Initially, we planned to stay just for 2 nights at Elisabeth's B&B in Quebec but as we liked it so much we spontaneously decided to stay another third night. Elisabeth has been a great host and we felt very welcome in her cosy and lovely decorated B&B. She prepared a delicious breakfast in the morning which was a great start in the day. Furthermore, Elisabeth provided us with a lot of information for our stay in Quebec to visit the best places there and even for our journey further to the north east of Quebec she gave us great hints. We really enjoyed our time there and the next time we will visit Quebec, we definitely stay in her B&B again.

Unfortunately, we only stayed one night but it has been a very nice experience. In 5 minutes by car you can reach the Old City. The B&B is very nice, very cleaned and our suite was gorgeous. It really seems to be at your friend's home.
Breakfast was terrific, one of the best in my life! Thanks to Elizabeth and her dog Maggie :-)

The welcome, guidance, rooms, food and company were all superb. In addition to welcoming you into her lovely home, Elizabeth - the owner, is a gourmet cook and each day begins with a wonderful multi-course breakfast. The B&B attracts an international clientele. We truly enjoyed chatting with Elisabeth and the other guests at breakfast each morning.
We had such a lovely stay at the beginning of our trip to the Charlevoix region that we called and booked another night on our way back to Montreal to fly home. The owner is a native of France with great English skills. She went out of her way to guide us to sightseeing, public transportation and delightful local restaurants. This was simply a delightful B&B experience.

La Victorienne Urbaine is a superb accommodation for visiting Quebec City and surroundings. I stayed there twice on my way to the Maritimes and back and will definitely stay there again whenever I am in Quebec. The house is full of atmosphere, the rooms are immaculate clean and beautifully furnished. The Top Suite is very spacious with a well equipped kitchen. But even when staying in the self-catering suite don’t miss Elisabeth’s breakfast! It is absolutely marvelous and varies every day.
Elisabeth is a wonderful host and makes you feel like being at home. On arrival she provides her guests with useful information about Quebec City area and things to do. Though there is a bus in front of the B&B which brings you right into the city within 5 minutes it is also a pleasant walk (about half an hour) along the river or up the stairs.
I really loved staying in La Victorienne Urbaine and can highly recommend it.
