If you need a quick place to eat a hearty Quebec lunch, go to the Letit Cochon Dingue ("Crazy Pig"). This place was awesome. Their bakery section looked great, but we headed straight for the lunch items as we were famished after a long morning of sightseeing. They offered a lunch special that came with a sandwich, a side, and a drink, which made it easy to order. There is an upstairs eating area where you can carry your tray, find a spot, and chow down while looking down at the St. Lawrence river from the view out of the windows. The decor is cute. A very cozy, home-style place. They even had free coffee upstairs.

FYI, this is one of the more local places, so the people behind the counter were more apt to take an order in French than in English.

Me and my boyfriend had lunch at Le Petit Cochon Dingue this afternoon after a walk around the old town. We both had the set lunch menu for $9 (before tax) which consisted of the daily soup, sandwich and a drink. The cream of carrot soup was delicious and the ham, Swiss cheese and olive sandwich was just as nice. We found it to be great value for the quality of the food, the service was also good. The cakes look amazing! We would definitely return for a lunch.

Was so happy we found this gem in lower Quebec. It isn't fancy but seems like a local "family" type café. The pulled pork baguette was super yummy and the seafood pot pie is something I may have fond flashbacks of every time I need a good old carb and cream "fix". Desserts were underwhelming but who needs dessert after a big old pot pie anyway. haha bon appetit!

My wife and I went in (this would be the smaller version of a full size restaurant down the block) to order a quick lunch. The board had lunch specials up and we attempted to order the lunch special, but our French must not have been up to snuff, because when we got rung up, the price was more than double what two lunch specials would have been. The soup was okay and the sandwich was standard fare, but the price for what we got was terrible.

If you want to have tasty sandwiches and great cakes for dessert that's the place you want to go.
They have sandwiches, salads, soups, cakes, pastries & great cafe au lait . I loved the taste , it was great. The seating area was upstairs and it was super cute. The price was great.
Just do not forget they close early !
