I was delighted to find such a comfortable place to stay in Montreal near the Village, but just a couple blocks away. The communication with the owners was quick and responsive. The property was clean and warm. The food exceeded my expectations with variety and offered balance choices of a local nature. I would return to the property anytime.

Having had my last visit in the heat of the summer in the always exciting montreal, i figured to brave it and see what a real winter holiday would be like.
I have known the owners Joel and Rob) for sometime - I expected wonderful accomplishments at their new B&B LaLoggia , what these 2 hard working men have achieved in such a short time is truly amazing. In the heat of the summer their back deck is a cool oasis - surrounded by tropical plantings and sculptures you feel taken away from the bustle of the village just around the corner. The rooms are beyond comfortable with luscious fresh bedding comfie beds squishy pillows, top of the line linens - i had the BEST sleeps.
Cool in the summer, in winter the place has a coziness that can't be achieved in the summer. Montreal in the winter is fun its easy to get around and is great to walk around in the blustery winter weather knowing there is always someplace close by you can tuck away into. Besides the warm ambience that the two owners exude will get your hearts warmed up. There are many fun winter activities to do in this fine city.
LaLoggia is a meca in the center of the village in montreal - situated on one of the coolest streets with great shops all around this B&B fits into the neighbourhood like a charm - they have created a unique environment for guests the whole place is full of wonderful interesting eclectic art - it doubles as an art gallery.
Look for artists in residence programs for visiting artists to share their creations. I am sure this place will be bustling once the word gets out - who could pass by comfort, warm hospitality, delicious food and conversation plus all the wonderful ART. It will truly make your holiday trip to Montreal that much more special.

How ironic that I chose to go Montreal on a personal enrichment retreat instead of indulging in it’s many pleasure palaces. Well at La Loggia Art and Breakfast you can do it all. It is conveniently located on Rue Amherst in the Gay Village and close to the excellent restaurants in Rue Duluth and St. Denis. I originally went to La Loggia back in July to be in the Village and within walking distance to the main events of the Jazz Festival. I felt so welcomed and comfortable that I came back again in January.

Joel and Rob are excellent hosts who go out of their way to make one feel at home. Joel is primarily a sculptor and creates beautiful pieces. He has a lovely studio which doubles as the breakfast area in winter. Rob is a personal trainer and is available to do sessions with guests in the studio. Rob and Joel have lovely circle of friends one of whom teaches yoga. For my January visit I opted to take personal yoga classes and a session with Rob. What a treat to do the work outs followed by a delicious lunch in nearby restaurants and then to come back and take a restful nap in the humungous bed (the bed in the room I was in was so large, it felt as if four petite folks could sleep in it comfortably). The rooms are tasteful and well-appointed, each with a unique piece of art that is available for sale should one wish to bring home a souvenir. Though all rooms are great, I found there’s something especially cozy about the downstairs rooms; they don’t have their own bathrooms but they still exude a sense of peace and comfort.

I’m loathe to write this review as there are only four rooms and fear that my lovely retreat place will be filled up; so do book early or come in the winter when Montreal warms up in delightful and unexpected ways.
