To celebrate a dear friends birthday, we returned to our favorite restaurant," Faros." Eating there is always like a first experience. Benny, the owner and Chef, makes grilled octopus like no one else, we have never been disappointed with any of their dishes. George is the perfect Host, he takes care of you, suggests different choices, and is all together a delightful gentleman. Sure, you pay a bit more, but it is well worth it to know that you are receiving the freshest fish, vegetables and fruit. Friendly and efficient serving staff, a warm ambiance, what more could you ask for? So, go ahead, treat yourself, you will be glad that you did.

We were two couples celebrating the wedding anniversary of one couple on a weekday night.
The appetizer of Tunisian octopus was good. Three of us ordered the swordfish and one ordered the Chilean sea bass. The bass was excellent. The generous portion of swordfish was overdone and lacked seasoning. Vegetables accompanying the main dish were pathetic! Mushy broccoli, 4 slices of steamed carrot, a few slices of beets and 4 pieces of corn, not evening making up a whole cob. Rice was tasteless. When we told the waiter that the swordfish was overdone, he shrugged his shoulders disdainfully and walked away. The waiter who cleared our table removed plates while one of us was still eating. He also scraped the plates at tableside. Not very appetizing. Decaf coffee was terrible and regular coffee was not hot. The baklava was delicious! The noise level was deafening throughout the entire evening.
We had dined at Faros in the past and always had a pleasant experience. There are much better restaurants in Montreal. Highly over- rated for the price!

We stumbled upon this restaurant on a cold Montreal night, and were greeted with such warmth and hospitality. It is pricey but the fish is so fresh and was excellent. They treated our children with such kindness. There was no rush and the suggestions were excellent. Cosy Greek restaurant.

Nice, authentic Greek neighbourhood seafood restaurant. Food generally fresh, tasty and nicely presented. Pleasant ambiance. Downsides: Waiter had no knowledge of wines. Prices were exorbitant: Steamed lobster cost $76.80!!!!!!!!!!!! ($32/pound), served with nondescript rice and plain steamed vegetables. Black sea bass for 2, $64.00!!!! ($32/pound), with same sides. Bill for 3 people, $255 for a relatively simple meal.

The sea bass melted in my mouth, the swordfish was delicious...the yogurt dessert was the perfect ending. Great restaurant, again. We come once a year, and will definitely return.
