We ate Vegetarian Duck at Chu Chai Thai that just amazed my discriminating vegetarian wife and me. It looked like a duck, it smelled like a duck, it tasted like duck, but it was vegetarian. The menu offered a large selection of vegetarian food that I've never seen elsewhere.
All of our dishes were excellent and reasonably priced. The waiters were friendly and helpful. Language wasn't a problem.
We sat outside, under the awning, on a porch raised above the street so we had an excellent view of Rue Saint-Denis. They have their own bar, so you can't bring your own bottle of wine, as you can in some Montreal restaurants. The chairs on the porch bothered my wife's back, but a waiter solicitously brought out a chair from an inside table. The menu is so varied that we felt we could eat several meals there without being bored. There is no question that it would be at the top of our list when we return to Montreal.
