“Tasty Piquant”
Reviewed February 13, 2014

For something a little different, this is an excellent place. We loved our first visit and tried several different items. The soup was out of this world. Appetizers too. On our first visit we were very satisfied. However the second visit, I chose the salmon for a main course and that was a mistake. The fish was not fresh and it was awful. I had to send it back. I was given a chicken in peanut sauce instead and it was delicious. Service can be a bit slow even when there are not many customers. They don't sell alcohol but you can bring your own bottle of wine.

“A little Strange”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Not quite sure where to start! This place has no alcohol licence, so you need to bring your own. There seemed to be one guy doing most things, best we could tell, so the service was a little slow. The food however was very good, and very reasonably priced. The decor was dated and a little TLC is required, but the food made up for any shortcomings.

“Tragic evening, less than mediocre food”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

Well, it started out benignly and it seemed like a reasonable place for the evening. The menu looked interesting and the relatively young crowd seemed to be having fun. So, I went in - and then the soiree began to go downhill. There seemed to be no one actually seating customers, once they finally saw us at the door we were shown to a table. No liquour license, so byo beer or wine.... odd, but OK.. the appetizer contained pineapple bites right out of a can and the flavours were off.... the main course of grilled salmon and veg seemed to be flavoured with something off the grocery store racks... just not right... and the dessert? well, the dessert never arrived... despite repeated inquiries of the server(s) it was a lot like waiting for Godot. I finally bailed. Service was a bit on the painful side and the front and back of the house never seemed to connect. Short version? Don't go... Montreal is full of nice places to eat - this just isn't one of them. d

“What a mess”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

We had lunch at Tai Nature and although the food was actually quite good, the service was the worst we have ever had. We arrived at the end of a busy lunch hour and the staff seemed overwhelmed. They focused all their attention on a group of 8 people and our food took most of an hour to arrive. We waited because we were tired and happy to sit down, and also we were on holidays so willing to be a bit more patient. But they forgot about us, and when they finally remembered, all the food came at once, including the soup, which was good but lukewarm. Then they never came back, but we could hear them talking to each other about how busy it was. At this point the place was empty but we still didn't see them again. And when we stood up to go pay the bill, nothing was said. Maybe it was a tough day for them - but they took it out on their customers.
