A 5a7 fixture, this Old Montreal hub adds a pinch of outlandishness to modern pub sensibilities. It's a fresh spin on post-work unwinding and late-night bites. Montreal's mischievous side never tasted so good!

“"Le Skinny" was a bad choice. What was I thinking.”
Reviewed January 5, 2013

The reviews are good, but my first and only experience here was very disappointing. I was not famished so I ordered the 4 oz. "Le Skinny" burger with a side of poutine. It was my first visit to Montreal and I was looking forward to trying poutine at a "good" restaurant. What I got: a very small two-bite burger sandwiched between what I can only describe as two Carr's water crackers with some scant greens, a bit of tomato, undetectable cheese and a side dish of lukewarm poutine. All this for only $29 Canadian. I had to send the poutine back for re-heating. When I got it back there was no detectable braised pork to be found, just a pile of hot french fries and cheese curds in gravy. I left hungry, and felt ripped off. Others have had much better experiences, I can only chalk it up to not knowing what NOT to order here. "Le Skinny" doesn't work at this type of place. I should have known. Poorer but wiser. :)

“Exceptional!”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

The concierge at the Queen Elizabeth suggested this place at the last minute on Boxing Day. We were certainly not disappointed. The highlight of the meal had to be the rare steak that came to the table crispy on the outside, warmed throughout and still rare...! It is very infrequent that a restaurant is able to serve a rare steak that is still hot by the time it makes it to the table. Another high point of the meal was the bison tartar... seasoned with truffle oil, it was outstanding.

Probably not a destination for vegetarians but for the meat-eaters among us, it should be a stop on any trip to Montréal!

“Great first night out...”
Reviewed December 27, 2012 via mobile

First time in Montreal and got to the Le Saint Sulpice around 6:30pm and after resting saw great reviews on this place. We got there and nice ambiance, PHENOMENAL music, good food (try the bison tartare). Wine selection was excellent and we were just able to talk and enjoy a great evening. Definitely check it out if in the neighborhood.
