“Amazing Brew Pub”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2013 via mobile

My favorite place from Montreal and perhaps the best brewpub I've ever visited. Great selection of beers which ranged from very good to amazing. Great atmosphere and super helpful staff (the bartender called a friend of his on his personal cell phone to get us a last minute dinner reservation when we asked him for a recommendation). Loved that they wouldn't let people with small children in (who wants small children at a bar?). Limited menu but impressive considering its one person working with a small oven and a panini press.

I don't know if I'll return to Montreal but if I do I am positive I would come back here. In truth, coming back to Dieu du Ciel would make me want to visit Montreal again.

Thank Matthew I

“Must do for beer fans”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2013

This was on the top of the list to see in Montreal and it didn't disappoint. There was a nice chilled atmosphere in the bar and the service was always good even though it was quite busy.

I had the Blanche Neige which was the cinnamon beer and you had to drink it slowly as it is over 8% but the flavours do not show it at all. The beer was crafted really well and I would glad fully like to see it served elsewhere

I didn't order any food but the menu looked good and sitting at the bar I saw how meals were prepped and they looked good.

Its a nice evening to have out and is recommended for anyone that likes a beer.

Great beers. Friendly staff. Low key atmosphere. Great music. New friendship made. What else on the planet could one ask for. Come here and lift a pint or three. It will become one if your favorite places too.

“Montreal Must Do for Beer Lovers”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2013 via mobile

Fun atmostphere, but really crowded on the Sunday before New Years eve. They were going to be closed for two days and apparently everyone in Montreal needed their fill of their delicious IPA's and amazing imperial stout. Good selection of beers, but not for your budlight drinkers. This is high quality craft beers. Small menu, mostly grilled sandwiches and snacks - all made behind the bar. The food looked good, but if you want a big meal you might want to eat first. Friendly servers who worked really hard to keep the patrons glasses filled. Liked their beers so much, we bought some at a local store to take back to the states. Not sure if they sell it at the brew pub.

“Craft Brewed with Love”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2013

Canadian beer lovers instantly recognize Dieu du Ciel as one of the country's finest microbrewery. Based in Montreal and Saint Jérôme, Dieu du Ciel specializes in a wide range of styles.

Beer lovers will instantly feel welcome. Upon entering, you're transported into a world where beer and beer culture take center stage. It's the kind of place where you'll always see a guy with a large beard sporting a flat cap (those guys always show up where good beer is available). Staff is friendly, helpful, and most importantly they know their beer.

Now for the beer. They can best be defined as traditional with a touch of unique. One of the most popular is the Aphrodisiaque, a cocoa vanilla stout. It's super rich, heavy, and everything one should expect from a proper stout. Others include Corne du Diable (an American IPA that pays homage to the great IPAs of the West Coast), and Rosée d'hibiscus (a light summer ale that gets its distinctive flavor and pink colour from the addition if hibiscus in the fermentation process). These are but some of the many exciting beers available at Dieu du Ciel.

This place is a must if you love beer. Its a place to savor rather than drink. You can go everyday and try something different. The best is when you go and something new and never before seen appears on tap. In all its totally worth a visit or two. Go, enjoy, and drink responsibly.
