Patati is a small little hole in the wall. There might be room for 12 people inside, but it is worth the wait. Their food is freshly made, and their poutine is just so delicious. It's definitely worth making a trip up to the Plateau for the poutine alone.

The place was really small, smelled like a room in which you fried potatoes in all day (which they did), and the staff were too busy to look at me and get me order properly. The good was good and value for the money, but everything else was not

Ate dinner here our first night in Montreal. Very cool little 'hole in the wall' worth checking out. Definitely a place for locals, college kids, etc. Food was good, prices were cheap, staff was friendly. Nothing fancy and only a few small tables (and the counter) but they do lots of take out. We got a couple of burgers each (tofu & fish), side of fries, side salad & a drink. Very crowded w/ a line out the door--for a good reason. Recommended if you want something quick and / or cheap.

**TRIP NOTE**
My wife and I flew into NY, spent a couple of days there with family then took a two week road trip with stops in Burlington, VT, Montreal, Quebec City, Tadoussac (whale watching), Sherbrook, and Bethlehem, NH before returning to NY. We're posting reviews of most of the places we stayed & ate and places we visited. Some reviews may be short if the details are a little hazy (we're writing this after the fact) but at least to give you an idea of our experiences. Reviews are based on price and expectations so a $100 / night room is not going to be compared to a $200+ / night room nor is a $30 dinner going to be compared to an $80 dinner. Feel free to contact us if needed.

This place worth it if you're nearby. The burgers are small, but made to order and only $2.00 each. Poutine was delicious, and if you're not a fan, their regular fries are great. The menu is in French, but the cook/waiter/cashier speaks English and french. The staff is extremely friendly. The place is tiny and only seats 15 or so, but seats turn over quickly. Sit at the counter for best results. CASH ONLY!
