Very goof brunch experience. Service was excellent , the pastry very good and the location is very nice even near a road with a lot of traffic. I would definitely recommend to stop by. Try the «  pain perdu » .

Thank Cornemoine

Not sure what was different from our experience than the others who wrote reviews here but I would never recommend this place for anything to anyone (for brunch). I had looked forward to eating here and was very much disappointed. After a long wait, we received our food and the orders were wrong.. which was fixed but an hour later. At that point we no longer wanted to eat. The brunch is average at best. I expected the bread out of this shop to be excellent but we were served stale, old pieces of a baguette with our eggs. The Benedict was favourless with a bacon piece that was only fat! The 3 people in our group who had this got sick after - I assume it could have been the hollandaise sauce. The small cup of juice cost $7 which is ridiculous. To make up for their mistakes, the server offered us a free pastry - which again tasted old and stale!! Overall it was a very bad experience.

What a gem. We ate outside, every bite was exceptional, the service impeccable, the atmosphere relaxed and friendly. Please do not miss the Mousse Royal for dessert. Pleasure from start to finish!

This is a rare place to eat and enjoy yourself! It’s a beautiful piece of Paris in Montreal! Known for decades for its French pastry, the current owner has built the restaurant side and offers wonderful food and wine, as well as a great brunch! Sit inside or outside and enjoy spectacular views of St Joseph oratory! I love this place! Total class from the moment you enter! There are maybe a couple of places like this in Montreal! This is one of them! Enjoy yourself in quality rarely experienced today!

A tour guide suggested Duc du Lorraine to us as “feeling like you are at a cafe in Paris.” We are so glad we took her recommendation! Best eggs Benedict I have ever had, and the almond croissant was incredible. We indulged in an “opera” for dessert, which was also excellent. When they found out my husband was also a baker, they invited him inside, chatted with him and exchanged business cards and information. Excellent food, excellent service, definitely recommend!
