“Loved this place!”
Reviewed July 30, 2012

Wow! This spot was amazing. We had an absolutely amazing time here, and we were blown away by each item we ordered. I rarely give any restaurant an outstanding rating, but this one deserved it. We were soooo pleased with our evening. Can't say enough about the service as well. To top it off, how cute is it that they have swings!?

“Fun and Funky”
Reviewed July 3, 2012

This is not the typical tapas bar. Portions are relatively large and the menu tends more towards meat and fish and less of the cheese and olives fare typical of such places. They also have a very extensive bar menu, including some local beers on tap (the local Pilsner was particularly good).

One of the dishes we had a salmon tartar with a risotto pancake which was lovely. Another was a tasty arugula salad with olives and feta, which my wife was thrilled with. The yam fries were a bit overdone. The gazpacho soup was terrific and a perfect dish for a summer night.

Tables are a bit close together, but we enjoyed chatting with the two couples on either side of us. Perhaps not for everyone....

“disapointing”
Reviewed July 2, 2012

A lot of tapa bars are opening and we had not tried this one. the plates sound great on the menu but nothing really left a lasting impression.

It is nicely located in the midlle of the action on St Denis though.

“Good Tapas, great service, nice location”
Reviewed May 6, 2012

Went before a show with my Mom for her 75th birthday. The restaurant is housed in an old apartment, typical of Montreal and the Quartier Latin. Lots of separate areas on several floors. Our waitress was great, she gave us good advice with that unique warmth and friendliness you will only find in Quebec. 2 Tapas per person was more than enough for us. We had Fried Calamari, Roasted Scallops, Crispy Duck, Grilled Beef (Onglet), Fried Sweet Potatoes and Vegetables. Everything was very good, the Calamari and Beef especially remarkable. My mom is quite a foodie and she thought the Calamari were the best she's ever had. Onglet is rare to find on a restaurant menu. I love Onglet and I like to get it from my butcher once in a while and throw it on the BBQ. It's nice to get it all cooked for me, and it was perfectly done, with a spicy sauce which I couldn't figure out but tasted great. They have a good wine list and they serve about half a dozen of wines by the glass (both white and red).
At the end of the meal our waitress came with a dessert topped by a sparkle for my Mom, which was very nice since didn't ask for it, they juste heard it was buy Mom's birthday and offered this delicate attention.
They asked us before ordering if we were going to see a show (they are just across the street from Théâtre Saint-Denis) and they made sure to respect our time constraint, without making us feel like we were rushed in any way.
Pros: Great food, best Fried Calamari in that part of town, Onglet on the menu, wine by the glass, good choice for a pre-show dinner
Cons: Free parking non-existent, paid parking is scarce (my suggestion: Public Transportation metro Berri-UQAM, or park in one of the public underground parkings, access on Sanguinet street)

“Very good restaurants in montreal, but to bad for the change of menu”
Reviewed March 13, 2012

Talk about a good tapas restaurant in Montreal, and it as an amazing location on St-Denis street right in front of the Theater. Best place to go eat before show and they are conscious that many of their clientele are there for shows and will serve you quickly. and the service is the best, I have been at this restaurant at least 8 times and the service as been impeccable each time. Reserve in advance as the restaurant tends to be full each night. There is a section on where you sit on swing to eat which is fun to try once (see there site for pictures).
The only problem comes from there menu, the cooks are top notch and will serve out delicious tapas, its just that they did change there menu in past year and the menu before was much better. Its fun to update the menu but don't take out your best dishes. Many dishes have changed and the mayo with truffles and julienne were amazing but are no longer there.
