While in Montreal I turned to Trip Advisor to determine the best restaurants in a city known for excellent food. I was not disappointed. Restaurant La Loux is one of those rare restaurants that combines amazing, not-to-expensive gourmet food with impeccable service. From the moment our group of 6 walked in the door to the last bite of Chocolate Mousse, we were served by very attentive, yet unobtrusive staff. When we ordered one bottle of red and one of white wine, our server not only recommended wines but came to the table with two of each to give us some additional choices regarding the wine's body and acidity.

Equal care was given to the food. Each course that arrived was beautifully plated and a delight to the palate. La Loux takes pride in using meats, fish and veggies that are locally raised or grown. A wonderful place to kick back and enjoy the best Montreal has to offer.

What a wonderful place for five Brits to end their first trip to Montreal. The welcome was warm, the food amazing, Simon has not stopped raving over the scallops and the black garlic sauce or purred was sublime. Service was fast tables spacious and food wonderful.

It's a little out of the way , yet so worth it taxi from the old port $10

Do go you will not be disappointed.

Thank you

Had read about Laloux in some travel guides...so, we went for a late lunch and were quite impressed. Everything was fabulous...the bread, chilled melon soup, salad, pork belly, and the dessert. The food was artfully prepared and presented. Would definitely recommend a meal here!

We went to Laloux to celebrate my mother and girlfriend's birthday (3 persons). We started with a Cidre Effervescent to start the meal. For appetizers, we each had a different one: the sea urchin which were wonderfully fluffy, the fois gras which was a bit small but really good especially with the honey served directly from the comb, and the grill beef tartare which was good but with a little too much seasoning for me since I like the taste of raw beef. All appetizers were really good and the presentation wonderful. For the main meals, my mother and I decided to take split the prime rib for two and my girlfriend flank steak, but the waiter said that the prime rib was really big and would easily feed all of us. The piece was really impressive (2 inch tickness) and the sauce forectière was really good. There was so much meat, we even had leftover that we brought. For the wine, we took a private importation 1999 bottle from France which was incredible (forgot the name). For dessert, we took the tarte au citron, cheesecake, and the salad of strawberry. The tarte au citron was the best, followed by the stawberry salad and the cheesecake. If you like sweet and sugary cheesecake, it's not the one you get here, so be carefull. We also had the wine pairing for the dessert and they were all good. In all, the food was really good, but the price is also there (380$).

Great neighborhood restaurant. The food and service were fantastic. The duck, steak, scallops, Arctic char were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place.
