My wife and I went to diner at Bonaparte twice during our 5 day stay in Montreal. The 5 course menu for $ 48.00 was fantastic and they also have some really good and fair priced wine bottles on the list. The staff is very professional and friendly. One evening the very charming owner served us and we had a nice chat with him. We highly recommend this romantic place!

A great restaurant. The food is wonderful and the service is attentive. This is classic French restaurant; one of Montreal's better restos.

Like the Old City itself, Montreal's Bonaparte captures the best of the traditional along with the casual elegance and hospitable ambiance of contemporary dining in the finest of restaurants. A holiday dinner just before Christmas produced a multi-course prix fixe excursion through well prepared, artistically presented, and delicious choices including portions that didn't overwhelm despite their rich flavors and style that combined elegance with informality. The style of service accompanying the meal included the owner's attention to guests and their satisfaction, such as wine recommendations and a menu commentary that improved--just didn't sell--the dining experience. If the daily fare approached the quality of the holiday offerings, Bonaparte is a must-stop for visitors who want the pleasure of comfortable fine dining, the interest of discovering a chef's well-schooled imagination, and the qualities of a traditional cuisine. Highly recommended.

We were there for the first time last week and will go back on our netx visit to Montreal. We had the Christmas menus which were a very good value. The wine list is simply outstanding. Everything was just perfect that night, form service to food. The highlight was to find out several souffles were available for dessert. I had a Grand Marnier one which was perfect.

The food at Bonaparte's is well worth a visit but our Christmas Eve dinner was a disappointment. We arrived for our 9:30 reservation but waited 40 minutes to be seated. Sadly we felt rushed and had to leave before our meal was complete to get to the midnight mass at the Notre-Dame Basilica which is just around the corner.
