I had a very good dining experience here in the company of friends who had chosen the restaurant. Everything was professional, from the personalized welcome to the attention given throughout the evening. The atmosphere is relaxed but smart, and the quality of the food and its presentation excellent.

“Great place in the heart of Old Montreal”
Reviewed December 6, 2012

After walking around Old Montreal this was a great place to enjoy a meal. With several set menu options, there is an option for every and a great wine list. We made a reservation and got a nice table for 2 in the window.

“Great value the set menus”
Reviewed December 5, 2012

The 5 course set menu was a great way to taste a range of dishes, the sizes were good , generous but too much. Delicious break to start and a good wine list. I likes the roaring fire a welcoming sight the staff were attentive but discrete. We ended up being the last to leave we were having such a good night.

“Excellent!”
Reviewed December 3, 2012

We visited Bonaparte's to celebrate my husband's birthday and it was a perfect meal. We were there a little earlier than we would normally eat due to scheduling, but the bonus was being able to be seated by the fireplace. We each ordered the tasting menu - fantastic! We both started with the salad, neither of us being lobster fans, and it was fresh and interesting. Doug went with one of his faves for the next course - the warm goat cheese while I tried the duck fois gras creme brulee which was creamy and delicious (and I'm not a foie gras fan). Next course Doug has the shrimp and scallops - our server overheard him say he's not a fan of shrimp so she checked with the kitchen (without him even asking) and they happily accommodated doing scallops only, which he loved. I had the mushroom ravioli with fresh sage - definitely one of my favourite courses as the pasta is so fresh and the sage so flavourful without overpowering. The pear and tarragon sorbet is so refreshing that I will be trying to recreate it for an upcoming multi-course holiday meal. For our main i had the filet mignon (perfectly cooked) and Doug thoroughly enjoyed the lamb. The desserts were lovely. What I appreciated, other than the fabulous service, is that each course was the perfect size. At the end we were sated, not feeling overfed. We also appreciate that they carry one of our favourite Canadian wines - Petales d'Osoyoos. Merci beaucoup for a fantastic evening!
