“Bagels, Bagels, Bagels”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012

An excellent choice for a relaxed breakfast when the terasse is open. Very lively (noisy) place, where everyone knows everyone. Great location to meet up with your friends for brunch.
Bagels made on location and available to take home.

“Horrible service, better off taking the bagels to go”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2012

I went there for an early lunch on their patio (which by the way is nothing like the picture).
I was given the menu quickly as well as my drinks but once I placed my order I did not see the waitress again. And it was not that busy!! I had to get up 4 times to let people pass because the tables are badly placed. I did not have any refill of my coffee nor my water. The traditional bagel was good but the ceasar salad was pathetic!!
The prices and value are alright for NDG.
The worst is when I went to pay, the manager did not even looked at me as he took my card and gave me my receipt. He was too busy talking to one of his employee!!
To sum up: horrible customer service from start to finish and even by management! No wonder!

“Relaxed outside terrace = ideal summer vantage point on Monkland”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2012 via mobile

What's not to like about St-Viateur bagels with myriad delicious toppings and fillings from classic smoked salmon to Montreal smoked meat and everything in between including some great veggie options?! Accompanied by your choice of various salads on the side - a good meal overall with Montreal flavour in NDG.

“Fun and very good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2012

This was my third visit there. It is a very friendly lively place. We sat outside and as usual it was busy even though it was a Wednesday morning. Couple, families and single people enjoy the food and the atmosphere. The bagels are made on the premises. They are excellent. They serve simple delicious food, freshly made. The home fried potatoes are irresistible . We usually go for breakfast and have eggs, home fries , fruit and of course a bagel. The menu is large and varied. The choices are excellent. It is Jewish style food. The service is efficient, friendly and informal.
The prices are very reasonable. I never miss the opportunity to eat there when I am in Montreal.
Don't forget to take some bagels home . You can watch them being made and baked at the side of the store. They are sold in paper bags as they're still warm when handed to you. Enjoy.
Don't miss it.

“O Bagel, My Bagel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2012

As a Montrealer, take it from me, this is the place you want to go for Sunday brunch after a weekend of shopping and partying in Montreal.

Located in the now tres chich neighbourhood of NDG (Notre Dame de Grace) this place fills up quickly and for good reason. The bagels are supplied by the original St. Viateur location down in the Plateau area of Montreal, the portions are big and the food is fresh. In summer, you'll want a seat on the enclosed patio to lounge, sip your bottomless cup of coffee and recover from the night prior.

I stongly suggest you order "The Kit". You don't need anything else.

Insider Tip: for those of you who are re-energized by your extended brunch experience and who require a bit more retail therapy, cross the street and pop into Plein Sud for designer clothing at great prices.
