“Great food, poor service”
Reviewed February 5, 2014

We were seated right away, because it was early and there was lots of tables available. One of of bottles of wine was corked opened for us and they brought glasses and water. After that, we were ignored for the rest of the evening. Luckily we had a twist open bottle...We had to waive to have the waiter take our order. We had to waive to have more water. We had to waive because we had all received our order but one (there was 5 of us). And we were ignored again until the place was empty and we had to waive again to get our bill.
Water refill would have been nice, and at least 1 visit te the table.... We had to get extra napkins from the neighbor's table and pimento.

“Amore!!”
Reviewed December 15, 2013 via mobile

When the moon hits your eye, like a big pizza pie, that's amore"
Ok so you wait a while to get in,then the waiters drop the menus and bring you water and bread( like in old prisons),then 5 minutes later they take your order...so far not the best review..right??
But..the good part is while you wait you drink your own wine..enjoy the atmosphere and take in the joys of this classic MTL pizza joint.
The sausage is out of this world and all the pizza that i have tasted in 30 years are hot and fresh and made with the best ingredients.
Service is fast and straightforward..
The decor is a little kitch and some might not like the loud atmosphere.
One negative comment..if you make me take out money from your ATM because you dont take credit cards or interac...dont charge me an extra 2$ fee...it's cheap and will make me
leave less tip.

“Everything but Neapolitan...Don't be tricked...”
Reviewed November 21, 2013

Little Italy in MOntreal is an area where you can still find Italian old people outside their shops playing cards, each speaking their original Italian dialect, really pictoresque scene, but don't be deceived but the so called "Pizzeria napoletana" , because it is light years far away from the authentic Neapolitan pizza so badly that I think people from Naples should denounce the owner. I think they shoul change their name! First of all none of them speaks Italian. Second the restaurant is overcrowded and you can easily smell what is eating your neighbour. The fact is that most people think that it is Italian, but it isn't. An American style pizza which is not even the ghost of a Neapolitan pizza. And finally you can only pay cash, no credit card is accepted here.... Please, do a favour to your stomach, to your wallet and to your entire family: skip it!!!! My motto is "When you travel out of Italy, if you can't have a good pizza, have a hamburger then"..

“Way overrated, Not worth the detour”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

I wanted to go there for so long ...

We finally made our way there .... Clearly they are in a league of their own .....(at the bottom !!!)

They simply over use Tomato in everything .... On Pizza, you can' taste anything because there is so much tomato sauce on the pie, In the spaghetti (I had the pizza with meat sauce and ...really !!! I mean really !!!! let's be serious here .....

I am not saying that the food is bad but it is certainly not a step above all other pizza's in town like people want you to believe.

Finally, especially if it is half empty.... Sit people so that they wont be disturbed every 10 minutes ....
Being our first visit we were given a place at the end of a table with 10 seats .... only to have the people at the other end leave...another group of 2 arriving...another group of 2 arriving and another group of 2 arriving.....every time having to stand up as we were next to the wall.

not fun...not fun at all
