Description: There's a reason Forbes Magazine named us one of the Top 10 Steakhouses in the world. And why Moishes has become a Montreal favorite that has endured over 70 years. We think it's the authentic taste of each one of the old world favorites on our menu. If you're an old friend, welcome back. We're always delighted to see you. We couldn't have come this far without you. If you haven't yet, we warmly invite you to discover the taste for yourself, at our restaurant overlooking historic Saint-Laurent Boulevard (The Main.)

“Great Steaks - Expensive but worth it.”
Reviewed May 8, 2014

Had reservations for a party of 7 and were seated promptly on a busy Wednesday evening. Service was prompt and efficient. Water glasses constantly were filled. Bread baskets were also replaced quickly. Food was prepared as ordered. Succulent steaks and delicious sides. Everything was cooked to specifications. It was a delicious, filling meal. It was very expensive, but the cost was not unexpected. It was my second time there and I will go again.

“Go somewhere else”
Reviewed May 6, 2014 via mobile

I have been to Moishe's several times and never really been a big fan but my business partner in Montreal really likes the place. I went again with friends but another big disappointment. My partner ordered a medium filet mignon and got a steak that my dog wouldn't eat. Steaks are soooo over rated and it is a complete rip off! expensive and useless!

“OverCrowded, OverPriced, OverHyped, UnderCooked, Pretentious.”
Reviewed May 4, 2014

If you want to dress up and shine your shoes and get the car waxed, got a hot date or wanna impress your family or friends with a night out at a swanky Montreal hot spot...well THIS AIN'T THE PLACE!
Love to overpay, and love to get badly cooked meats? This is YOUR PLACE!
Love CROWDS of NOISY people all bunched up in a low METAL ceiling where sound just accentuates? Here it is!

Pretentious place, VERY PRICEY, tight seating arrangements (could we fit another table? YES! Ten more tables! MORE$$$$ mouahahahah!)

I can cook a better steak at home, just as THICK, but mine stays way more juicy and tasteful. My steaks are cooked to perfection. Moishe's steaks are AGED?!?! REALLY?

PRETENTIOUS, "look at me!" kinda place.
Noisy, tasteless, WAYYYY OVER priced, crowded...does that sound good to you?
Not to me. Sorry I ever got duped to go there.

“Good but expensive for the quality”
Reviewed April 24, 2014

We hadn't been to Moishe's in years but were craving perfectly cooked steak, so we booked for a Thursday early evening dinner. The greeting at the door was rather cool, but the congeniality and helpfulness of the waitstaff more than made up for it. We had a wonderful server.
The room was almost full and somewhat noisy. Many 12 to 14-person tables. Thankfully, we were tucked in a corner, so could hear ourselves speak without raising our voices too much.
The meal was very good: an excellent shared 22-ounce Spencer dry-aged 45 days and served black and blue, so-so fries and delicious marinated grilled veggies. No starters because we knew the entrées were filling.
The wine list is extensive but the mark-up is steep. We each had a glass of white wine to start, then shared a bottle of côte-du-rhône red.
No dessert, two expressos. The bill came out to $260 including taxes and tip.
We've been to other steakhouses where the quality was similar but the bill more reasonable. The only thing keeping us going back to Moishe's is the fact that they're the only ones so far in Montreal who can deliver a perfect black and blue.

“Generally overpriced and underwhelming”
Reviewed April 13, 2014

The meal here was similar to what I have experienced at many other steakhouses. The food is way overpriced and the quality is marginal. We went for the 45 dry aged Porterhouse steak and it arrived cooked very well but lacking in seasoning and all of the character you come to expect and pay for in a dry aged steak. The sides were very average as well. The one good thing was the service. We had a big group and they handled everything well. Definitely not the best choice in Montreal.
