Description: Seven nights a week, local bands take the stage at Montreal's hottest Jazz bar and bistro. Modavie's spirited setting sets the scene for a night of great tunes, top dining and generous pastis toasting. The bistro's far-reaching wine menu hits just the right notes and helps round off succulent lamb, fish, beef and inspired pasta dishes.

From the minute you walk in the door, you know you are somewhere special. Lorenzo greets you with a warm and welcoming smile and it just gets better from there. We were a half hour early as the show we had been to finished earlier than we expected. This was no problem and we were seated immediately..........right next to t.v. and movie star Christopher Noth! If this restaurant is good enough for Mr Big, then it's certainly good enough for a couple of tourists from Ontario!
Once the surprise of our dinner companions wore off, we focused on the menu. Which we were pleasantly surprised to find was extremely reasonable. The servers were attentive and very friendly (yes, even after the departure of Mr Noth and his family).
Our meals were spectacular! Pasta Bolognese like I've never had before.....absolutely delicious. The lamb and pastry dish my husband had was unique and really tasty, a nice twist on lamb. The wine list was extensive, and we enjoyed a few glasses while the jazz band played on the small stage in the center of the main floor.
In every aspect, this was a very enjoyable dining experience and I highly recommend Modavie when in Montreal!

Recommended by hotel and so glad we went. Lorenzo stopped by several times. Best Cosmo in a long time. Rachel was a super waitress, entertainment was nice and the lamb was outstanding! Everyone hustles and Lorenzo goes out of his way to help staff and to make you feel welcome! Monday night and it filled up quickly. Enjoy

My husband and I had just one night in Montreal and I am so happy that we decided to dine at Modavie. The charming Lorenzo seated us right away and everything from the service to the food was perfect. The French Onion Soup was delicious, the steak frites was delightful and although we didn't have dessert - we definitely will next time. It was a treat and I look forward to seeing Lorenzo again next time!

We received a warm welcome from the absolutely charming Lorenzo, and were seated immediately. There was a lot of dishes we wanted to try from the menu but we settled for rillettes, onion soup, rack of lamb and braised lamb, toped with Tiramisu (made at the restaurant!!) and every single dish was impeccable. The ambiance is great, musicians are really talented and despite being on the fancier spectrum of restaurants, it feels right at home. Definitely going back on another date night.

We went here through the knowledge of a friend. By far we had the best calamari. I have never had it cooked so perfect! The lamb plates they had were wonderful as well. I liked the Tiramasu but it was made with kahlua and it made for a different taste than I am used to. The live Jazz was great and the overall experience was great! Lorenzo was a great host and our waitress was very knowledgable. We would return and plan to soon!
