Description: Seven nights a week, local bands take the stage at Montreal's hottest Jazz bar and bistro. Modavie's spirited setting sets the scene for a night of great tunes, top dining and generous pastis toasting. The bistro's far-reaching wine menu hits just the right notes and helps round off succulent lamb, fish, beef and inspired pasta dishes.

Had a superb dinner last night at Modavie, which was recommended by the concierge at our hotel. We both had lamb, the house specialty. Lorenzo our host was friendly and helpful, and the service by our waitress Emily was impeccable. I would describe the food as classic French style, nicely presented and delicious but unpretentious. Drinks beforehand were excellent and the wine list was just right. We ate downstairs but were close enough to hear the live music from the second floor dining room. Highly recommended!

Radouan gave us the best service in all of Montreal. He was very professional, attentive and fun! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was extremely enjoyable. This was our best dining experience in Montreal!

“Great Food and Jazz in Old Montreal”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

We went on a rainy evening and the warm reception we received from Lorenzo and our server, Rachel, made us forget about the weather. There was beautiful soft jazz played by a duo of guitar and vocalist and our dishes of Mahi Mahi and Cavetelli with Lamb were excellent- washed down by a lovely bottle of Mission Hill Cabernet/Merlot from Canada! Highly recommended.

“Great food and ambiance in the heart of Old Port”
Reviewed July 28, 2013 via mobile

We read the reviews on TA and chose Modavie for our dinner on our only night in Montreal. It did not disappoint! Great food in a charming setting with excellent service led by Lorenzo who not only made us feel welcome, but special. We went for the rack of lamb as recommended and it was spectacular.
