Description: Seven nights a week, local bands take the stage at Montreal's hottest Jazz bar and bistro. Modavie's spirited setting sets the scene for a night of great tunes, top dining and generous pastis toasting. The bistro's far-reaching wine menu hits just the right notes and helps round off succulent lamb, fish, beef and inspired pasta dishes.

Great Friday night out; Girls' weekend in Old Montreal. Just a block away from our accommodations at Hotel Nelligan on St-Paul Ouest; ideally situated in the heart of things. Service was very attentive and cordial. Varying levels of hunger prompted us to try items from all over the menu; starters, main dishes, salads and table d'hote. Favourable reviews from all 5 of us and reasonable priced. Would have preferred the live music to be purer Jazz than the covers being sung upstairs; although vocalist was excellent. We 'closed' the downstairs at least at the not-very-late hour of about 11 p.m. Forgot my umbrella and it was there the next morning.
And a big thank you to Lorenzo for his kind attention.

We had another great dinner and experience at Modavie this past Saturday May 11th. As always the meal was delicious and the atmosphere is fantastic. We sat on the first floor this time and were luck enough to get the corner window street that we really enjoy. The Live Jazz played upstairs is also heard on the first floor and was excellent on Saturday, it was nice to be able to hear it while you enjoy dinner and conversation even if your not upstairs to see the band.
Thank you again Lorenzo and the rest of the staff. Hope to see you again next time we are in town.
Jeff and Liz.

On a recommendation of a friend, my husband and I decided to have dinner at Mondavie. It did not disappoint. Our meals were delicious (especially the grilled trio) the atmosphere lively as jazz filled the air and the staff were friendly and attentive. I highly recommend Mondavie for a memorable evening in Vieux Port.

This was our second dinner a Modavie. The wait staff is friendly and bilingual. The food has not disappointed. We had the catch of the day, red snapper and it was moist and delightfully presented. Lorenzo the Maitre d' greeted all the patrons. Our daughter just came back from a year abroad in France. We wanted a friendly /fun place to go after the airport pick up and celebrate Mothers Day. She got to speak French as well for the last time. The sevice can't be beat either. Last time we were heading to a show afterwards and the kitchen rushed the dinner.
We will certainly go again and don't forget to order the Tiramisu for dessert !
